The three scrambled to move everything usable onto Kozak. Even though Lotti did not say why, Hans and Heidi knew what that was for. Food, sanitary supplies, and other day to day items, all consumables that are hard to replenish inside the Kozak. Even a fool could have guessed that.
“Kozak, do you have Ivan’s position?” Lotti was still breathing heavily after physical labour, and she was already worrying about him.
Kozak was about to report, but the garage door opened. It wasn’t anyone but Ivan.
“Whoa, what a party,” Ivan smiled as he struggled to stand.
“Ivan!”
Lotti and Hans rushed towards him. While Lotti wanted to support him, Ivan was too heavy with the armour, but Han got him.
“I’m… okay,” Ivan didn’t want them to worry.
“Kozak, got any medical device?” Lotti asked quickly.
“Afformative. Nano-Med pod is ready,” Kozak answered.
They moved Ivan onto Kozak and removed his battered and blooded armour. Anyone could see his shoulder wound was bad. They did not say another word and moved Ivan into the pod.
“You will be alright in no time!” Lotti tried to smile.
“Medical system activated. Diagnosis in progress.”
Everyone was worried, they all knew it was bad, but hoped for the best.
“Grievous compound fracture on the left shoulder, multiple muscle tissue lesion, bullet fragments have severed multiple blood vessels, multiple neural pathways have been severed.”
They heard Kozak’s diagnosis, but didn’t understand the implication.
“Why did they do this!?” Heidi could not hold back. “Why!?”
“They were not hesitated to kill the only Warp engineer… they have gone mad… no…” Hans suddenly realized. “Damn it…”
“Hans?” Lotti did not understand.
“Perhaps… they only dared to kill Ivan because of me…” Hans gnashed his teeth.
“T-that’s not possible…” Heidi refused to believe.
“Stop it!” Lotti understood that it was meaningless to talk, and it wasn’t their fault. “Kozak, can you cure Ivan?”
“Warning: medical procedure must be commended immediately to remove the fragments outside the lung, repair spinal injury and neural pathways. Hibernation procedure: estimated for 6 years 3 months and 20 days. Please confirm and proceed.”
