Marienette's perspective: Present day.

5:16 AM, the sun was already up.
I scolded myself for getting up six minutes too late, quickly getting out of bed.
Scorvis needed me today, especially today.
It was the poor boy's anniversary, and I needed to make sure...nothing happened.
What would I do if he got he got...hurt?
Well, I would just have to get everything else done faster, so that I could make up for the lost time.
Nothing could go wrong.
Nothing could go wrong.
At exactly 5:28AM--which was such a lovely number, 28--I had gotten my clothes on. Today was Monday, so I wore my special light pink frilled dress. It made me feel very slightly more comfortable to see it.
Then I took a hurried shower, curled my hair into perfect ringlets, did my makeup, and was out the door.
I also needed to check on Madeline, because she hadn't been looking to well. Then there was the planning and the scheduling for the new speech His Highness had prepared, making sure Scorvis was alright, and oh--how was I going to be able to do it all? No, it would be fine. I could do it all, because I had to do it all, right? Right.
I suppressed my anxiety, and brushed out the wrinkles in my dress. "Madeline, it's time to wake up my dear," I said, opening her door.
I had checked on both her and Scorvis throughout the night, to make sure they were alright. Every hour on the hour, so I hadn't been able to sleep well, which meant I hopefully wouldn't fail at my duties because I was tired.
More anxiety to suppress, because it wasn't about me, I had to help them. 121Please respect copyright.PENANACjPRCH0NVY
"Get away from them!" Madeline hissed out, gasping, her skin sheet white as she got out of bed ." 121Please respect copyright.PENANAdb9dt9Uzxi
Without even thinking, I covered up my exhaustion and came over to gently comfort her, the poor insane girl. 121Please respect copyright.PENANAZH4PRvbF4p
How could I make it better? I just...had to try my bes--no, trying was not an option, I had to be perfect.121Please respect copyright.PENANAwE00eUkKBd
Perfect, perfect, perfect.121Please respect copyright.PENANAxHFnwTxnxc
I whispered soft comforts I had said a thousand times before, but at the very least, the girl seemed to have warmed up to me a little bit121Please respect copyright.PENANAjW7ryIXUZK
Seeing her pained green and swirled eyes sent a wave of pain through my own heart. She had gone through so much...so much more then anyone should ever have to go through. 121Please respect copyright.PENANAIh7uksqj1R
Her and my little boy...oh, and what was Scorvis doing right now? 121Please respect copyright.PENANAxcS1qeY95J
Was he...was he...no, he couldn't be, he had to be alright.121Please respect copyright.PENANAn82lbfS40s
After-all, I had took away all of his knives, correct? But he always had more, and what if he had him them and-- 121Please respect copyright.PENANA2qGsNbayBf
"Wanna get breakfast Marsies?" Madeline asked, and her voice was all back to her fake cheer I hated so much, getting out of her bed.121Please respect copyright.PENANATqo1CptgZ1
I hated it, because it reminded me so much of Scorvis. And I hated that ridiculous nickname she gave me. 121Please respect copyright.PENANAvH0Gq6z0os
"Yes, well, in just a moment. I have to take His Highness up some, first," I said, my concern for Scorvis getting worse and worse as the seconds dragged on. 121Please respect copyright.PENANAq0O9HALhk7
But would Madeline be ok while I was gone...?121Please respect copyright.PENANAg2yavBGU37
"So, my dear, you get dressed and I will down for breakfast in just a moment." Madeline laughed, a touch more genuinely then her usual deranged one, which relieved me. She was getting better, or at, least I hoped.121Please respect copyright.PENANAAQAN2Krm0T
"Well alright then, Miss busy! See ya in a sec." 121Please respect copyright.PENANAYyKqswRFvG
"Yes, indeed," I hummed, and waited until I left the room to start near sprinting to take care of everything. 121Please respect copyright.PENANAyygF4v1j31
I grabbed a plate of breakfast for His Highness, and ran off to his room, worried about what I would find.
