"Cassidy.
"There is a truth to which we must confess," he began.
He looked remarkably like Cassidy, except a lot older with tanned wrinkled skin and a long green beard that was tied up.
The hologram was partially transparent, but solid enough to grab the boys' attention.
"You see, Cassidy... you are not exactly an orphan."
Mark remembered. He and his best friend were orphans, without parents.
But with his friend he forgot all that pain.
With his friend he was happy.
"I am your father. And your real name is Cain."
Cain looked up.
"We detected strong energy readings and realised it was you. Because..."
He looked sad.
"We abandoned you long ago, because we thought you had somehow become human because you couldn't use your powers.
"But now we willing to take you in again. You have proven yourself to us and we are willing to take you back to your true home-"
Cassidy looked up in shock, and horror and then anger.
"And what makes you think I'm going to forget everything, just like that?" Cain shouted. "I'm going to forget that you abandoned me? Even if I know for sure what you're saying is true, which I don't, but if I did, I still wouldn't come!
"Earth is my home now. And I can't leave Mark. He's my best friend."
Mark smiled secretly.
"Cain..."
"No, I'm not coming home. Even if what you're saying is true."
Suddenly there was a loud rumble. Cassidy's father growled.
"I SEE THAT THERE'S NO CHANGING YOUR MIND, THEN, CAIN. THERE IS NO POINT IN YOUR EXISTENCE."
The hologram disappeared.
The room began to shake.
It started to cave in on itself.
