Chapter 7: Emitting Mineral Qi into Organisms
“Little Zar, if you have made it this far, me putting my trust into you was the correct move. You now must learn how to help the village, for this, you are going to learn how to transmit and emit Qi into other organisms different from yourself. This works for all things, whether plants or animals and in some rare cases, inanimate objects. This can drastically speed up plant growth by several times, allowing you to grow a crop in the matter of a week, it will also make you capable of healing dying crops or healing people as you have more than likely healed yourself of your many ailments.
You will also eventually have to learn how to emit a concentrated beam of Mineral Qi; this is useful for destructive reasons if there ever comes the need. It will leave your body in the form of electricity and heat, resembling a lightning strike but in equal, having the freedom to travel a great distance. You may in this way, set fires easily, use the heat generated to bend metals, this is useful for opening locks, surviving in the outdoors and the such. There are greater things yet little Zar.
You are already able to move your Mineral Qi into cells, to emit Mineral Qi, rather than allowing it to enter your cells, you must keep it in your meridians and allow it to leave the tips of the fingers, toes or other extremities.”
“Ah, this is rather simple.” Thought Zar to himself.
“Now you may think this is simple, but it is easy to significantly damage another person's meridians who cannot handle so much life-force, therefore, even though your meridians are flexible enough to handle less than 1%, the meridians of your peers more than likely could only handle an even smaller percentage.”
“Of course...” Zar thought sarcastically to himself.
“Now this Oldman knows that you are acting sarcastic with me, but I will let it pass.” Zar felt a tension growing in his temples. “To heal or rapidly increase the growing speed of a crop, pass a miniscule amount of Mineral Qi, at less than 1% flow-rate, into the desired organism target. This will achieve a very miraculous feat, do not let the compliments get to your head however! To greatly damage, set fire, shoot a beam, or even bend and devastate metal, pass at the flowrate above 1%, Mineral Qi to the target – naturally this is very depleting.
This Oldman has but run out of pages to write upon. Little Zar, help and potentially save the village and take revenge for the atrocities done toward us!
Your Oldman loves you all.
Pagiath.”
Zar felt tears flow down his eyes, the Oldman's legacy was felt deeply within Zar’s heart, and he pledged a deep allegiance to the task set before him. “I will do so Father! I must go to Pam first who is at risk of death, then I will heal Tar and Lam, from there I will take care of the many afflictions of the other villagers, I will replenish my Mineral Qi and focus on the potatoes such that we have many yields to last us. From there, I will figure out what next must be done.”
The next many days were spent healing a great number of villagers, they would soon gain a similar, but lesser vitality to Zar.
“Brother Zar, my thoughts were plagued with depression, now they are relaxed and steady. You have my thanks, whatever was in that book clearly was absolutely necessary for our village and I am glad I entrusted you for those 3 weeks. With this vitality we will be able to survive a storm, but Brother Zar, we still need food, whatever will we do?”
“Now Brother Tar, worry not, I have a solution, a gift from the Oldman.”
“Like an item?”
“No, no Brother Tar, an ability! I should be able to significantly boost the rate and health of the crops such that we gain immense yields at incredible speed!”
“WELL, that would be AMAZING! But is that really possible Brother Zar?” Asked Tar.
“Indeed, for it is based on the same principle that has healed Sister Pam, yourself, Lam and the villagers. We will finally be able to bear children again and increase the population of the village. WE WILL FEAST BROTHER TAR!”
“YES-! I, hope we will! Although I cannot recall the last time excitement moved through me.” Tar thought to himself, having some doubts but yet having belief in his brother who had already demonstrated miraculous feats.
Zar went over to the small potato patch, where his Oldman lay, he poured through his meridians, Mineral Qi at the correct quantities, into the feeble flowers, awaiting the next day to see the results.
Time passed...
It was the next day, no longer was it only Zar who was up at the earliest hours of the morning, Tar, Pam and Lam were also awake too, the villagers were up and busy, repairing the village and restoring the small plots of land to a former nostalgic glory – this suddenly became possible due to Zar’s intervention, bringing healing and well-being to the villagers through Mineral Qi transference.
“Goodness me.” Thought one of the villagers to herself, the same villager who had a passing thought of ‘wedding’ Zar. “I have never seen such a healthy potato flower in my life, it is larger than any potato flower I can remember. This could possibly be the work of Grand Elder Zar.”
Zar at this point was heading over to see the results of his labour as well, but a small crowd had begun gathering over the crops, this caused Zar to well up with some enthusiasm and slight concern, “did it fail, or succeed?” He thought privately.
“Oh, Grand Elder Zar! Now you must have a look at this, was this your handy work handsome man?”
“ARE YOU FLIRTING with Grand Elder?!” Demanded one of the villagers in an interrogative manner.
“Me, psshh, NO! I am just commenting on his rather pleasant appearance.” Replied the fair lady.
“Let me see.” Requested Zar, brushing aside the banter for the moment, the villagers stood aside.
“See Zar, look at the sheer size of these flowers! Regardless of the size these potatoes might be ready tomorrow for consumption.” Continued the fair lady finding the affair very shocking.
“Hmm... I would like everyone to stand back a little from this particular crop.” People begun spreading out and mused on the incredible quality of the other growing potato crops around them. Zar placed his fingers on the initial crop and took his fingers off whilst some of the villagers watched eagerly.
“What did you do brother?” Asked the fair lady.
“Poured Mineral Qi into the crop.” Zar responded.
“What is Mineral Qi?” She replied.
“A basic life-force that can be cultivated in the lower Dantain.”
“Sorry, I am afraid I do not understand Grand Brother?”
“Soon, I will teach you so that we can regain abundance, for now I must touch each one of these crops again. We will eat well, so be patient, I will pour energy into all of you to stave away hunger for the meantime.”
People lined up to receive Mineral Qi, when Zar finished he felt a little weaker than usual. “Perhaps I could already replenish a little, I underestimated how much Mineral Qi I would use.”
