And it did, it slithered down the hall, stopping in front of her. It was another amalgamation, albeit less childish than the centipede. It had the body of an eel, and the legs of a spider sticking out of, although at bizarre angles, rendering them useless. Its skin gleamed in the light, wet from a liquid that oozed out its skin, giving it a shield of sorts.

It crawled closer to her, its clusters of thousands of eyes on its head focusing on her, eyes a bloody red. It opened its mouth, revealing piranha-like teeth, rows, and rows of them, along with the tongue of a snake, which snaked out the side of its mouth, thirsting.

Charlie fake sobbed, putting a hand to her head. “Why do all of y'all have to be ugly!?” She grumbled, to which the eel-spider thing cocked its head, not understanding to what the words she spoke. “Ugh. guess I have to deal with you too..” She muttered as the spider thing stared at her, confused and curious.

“Come at me with all you got, just put up more of a fight than your centipede friend did, ‘cause he did not last long…” Charlie murmured, getting lost in her thoughts of that fight for a moment, before snapping out of it. “Okay!” She exclaimed, “Are you gonna do anything or not?”

The eel thing, though it did not understand a word she said, processed the fact it had prey, though odd looking, but still prey, all alone and weaponless. Or was she? It did not know. It reeled back and opened its slimy mouth, bounds of thick saliva snapping as it did so.

Then, out of nowhere, snakes flew out of its mouth, zig-zagging through the air, mouth wide open, in an attempt to take a bite out of Charlie’s nonexistent flesh.

They were swatted away like flies, just like the eel’s centipede brethren. “Seriously, that was very unoriginal of you, come up with something new, please,” Charlie said, scoffing at the eel.

The amalgamation slowly closed its mouth, very much confused at the sight of a still-standing Charlie. It growled impatiently, sending sparks flying in the air. Charlie raised an eyebrow, surprised by the static electricity surrounding the eel. “Well that’s new,” She muttered, the eel thingamabob raising itself high, ‘standing’ tall.

It then charged at her, the glass at either side of the hall shattering as it came toward her, getting closer and closer, Charlie just stood there, almost impatient, even at the speed the eel was going.

It shot like a bullet toward her, but, somehow, it missed. Charlie swerved to the left, spinning on a heel, the air crackling around her as the spider-eel thing flew by, forcing itself to a halt. It growled, foaming at the mouth, angry its meal was so evasive.

Charlie smirked as it turned toward her, hands folded in front of her as if she was taunting it with her unmoving position. “You’ll have to do more than that to get me,” She said, chuckling at the enraged experiment before her. Just don’t make a mess, she thought, Or I WILL beat the life out of you.

The thing charged once again, a rumble as its speed increased, the speed of sound achieved, before it split into three, its body peeling into more of itself, like a spoiled banana, all of which headed at Charlie, who dealt with them accordingly.

She took stance, waiting patiently for the abominations to reach her, and acted once they did. The first one, she jumped over before forcing a heel into its spine, as it choked and struggled below her, writhing and wriggling for air.

Forcing her heel into the first spider thing, the second was swatted aside into a wall, splitting apart like a banana, its insides pouring out en-masse with the force of Charlie’s smack, splattering its organs everywhere, chunks of its flesh flying elsewhere. Charlie smashed the last and final one down into the ground with a fist, the sheer force of which sent echoes throughout the hallway.

She breathed heavily, even though she didn’t need to. A spider-eel thing still writhed below her, screaming Horsley, its life hanging on by a thread, a thread in Charlie’s possession. Its eyes were rolled back, anguished, the rest of its head covered in the blood of one of its brethren, whose clustered eyes were scattered everywhere, some of which hung out the eye sockets of the deceased body.

Standing on the still-writhing one, she lifted a heel and forced it into the spider amalgamation below her, the force of which caused the entire facility to tremble. It was a miracle the hallway didn’t collapse right then and there, with the state the place was in.

Charlie stared at the thing, once slithering, now having its life hither hereto gone, and frowned. “Tch. Didn’t even put up much of a fight,” she said, walking off the eel, ignoring the mess she had made, especially what she’d done with the second one, whose halves were now sliding down the wall, leaving blood and guts all over it, its eyes still twitching, its life had already withered away.

A half fell from the wall with a wet and greasy pop, threatening to crush a Charlie in its descending trajectory, but failing once it got swatted aside, flying into one of the rooms that had its glass shattered, its blood making more of a mess, chunks of flesh and slimy skin flying off the main half.

Charlie walked down the hallway, heels stained with blood, disappointed. She had expected a quick repair, just put her friends back together, and restored the village pre-second reset, restoring the village to The City of Shapists.

She exited the hall, annoyance gripping her, before raising her voice to talk to Sora.

“Sora, when the clean-up crew is done with what they’re doing, do me a favour and tell them there’s more in the testing hall. Oh, and send the repair bots to fix the broken glass or pretty much anything else that needs fixing.”

Charlie paced within the auditorium, conflicted on whether moving on was the best idea, but after looking into the next door, she made up her mind, her motive cemented.

She’d go on, no matter what this facility threw at her, she’d go on. She entered the next hall, this time labeled ‘North Hause of the City People’, a label that was sure to yield results, sure to yield her neighbours, sure to yield her friends, sure to yield her family.

Or so she hoped.
