Charlie sat in front of her sister Reliviana, holding her head in her hands, unable to cry. “Why? Why!?” Reliviana looked worredly at her sister, feeling sorry for her. “I’m sorry…” Charlie continued sobbing, oil, the closest thing she had to tears, filling her eyes.

When she had found Martin, she entered the presence of a brainwashed person. The executives had sent someone to wipe his memories, it occurred, and coded in new ones, decimating more of the already little family that Charlie had. Martin recognised Charlie only as someone he had to share living space with. The place was about to close, and here Charlie was crying over, put in less complicated terms, the loss of her husband.

“Wh-what am I going to do!?” She cried, and Reliviana attempted to comfort her, not knowing what she was going to say. “I-I don’t know.”

Charlie cried some more, sobbing into Reliviana’s arms. If only Bryceon and Roskito were here, they’d comfort her.

But they’re not.

Charlie’s sobs died down, and so did her ‘tears’, as her algorithm sought to collect herself. “S-sorry to bother you, Reliviana…” Charlie said, wiping her tears with a napkin.

“Don’t worry sis, it’s fine.”

Charlie departed from Reliviana’s cafe, making her way to gates, to see ‘Martin’ handing over the last child to their mother, something she usually did. Charlie walked resolutely past him, not uttering a word, though Martin tried to get her attention. She gave off a cold aura of ‘I don’t know you’ to Martin, an aura that, although felt, did not make sense to Martin, oblivious of the executive’s actions to make him shut up.

Charlie walked out of the gates of the daycare, walking toward the stand she usually stood on each morning. Feeling around at the base of the thing, she found a button, and upon clicking it, out popped a drawer, a gold key within, of which Charlie picked up, closing said drawer, and walking away thereafter.

The gates closed behind her as she made her reentry to the park, the sun gleaming on her white colouring. The diamond fountain had retracted itself back into the ground, and a staircase stood in its place, waiting for its last member, Charlie, to make entry.

She stepped down the stairs, finding the other’s charging. Reliviana had made her way to her charging spot quicker than Charlie expected, but it was of no concern to her. She noticed Jalquones at the end of the line up, charging peacefully, of which Charlie watched suspiciously for a moment, her trust for him, though increasing at some point, falling massively after Mialee and moreso after Martin.

She walked through the door at the end of the hall, doors swinging squeakily behind her, key glowing against the lights the dingy bulbs above her produced. At door sixty was where she made entry, and upon turning on the lights, there were various robotic parts scattered upon a table, but this did not worry Charlie at all as she entered. In fact, those were products of her construction, something she liked to lose herself in when they made Lovuviliere forget everything.

She took a seat at a lone desk against the left wall of the cubular room, and inhaled (if that was possible) deeply. She held her hand to her stomach, and the metal in the area popped off, revealing her power supply. She withdrew pliers, a screwdriver, and with bated breath, started taking out her power.

There was a chance this could desperately go wrong, but she would not stand by and do nothing while the executives toy with them. Either she ‘die’ and the company goes bankrupt due to the loss of their mascot, or she do what she had in mind, bring back everyone they took from her.

With shaky hands, she pulled out her power supply, her body on the verge of collapsing. Then, quickly as she was physically able to, she opened a drawer to her left, and withdrew a white lozenge, with what looked like sparkling stars within. She held it close to the cavity in her chest, where her former power supply once was, and to her relief, it worked.

The lozenge, with a violent whirring sound, took the place of her former power supply, removing her dependency on a recharge. In a show of light and all there was bright, the cavity sealed itself, earning a smile from whom it had an effect on.

Charlie stood up satisfied. She walked out of the room, closing the door and locking it behind her. Getting adjusted to her surroundings, due to the effect of having a new core, she walked back to door four, where they usually made calls with the executives.

The door opened upon detection of her presence, and she entered the dark room, a screen already waiting for her, her purpose for being there already known. The executives answered, a rare occurrence, and Charlie spoke first, before the heads of the company could complain about something.

“What did you do to Martin?” There was quiet for a moment, a verification that the executives were, obviously, involved.

“What are you talking about?” They had the audacity to say. “You know exactly what I mean.” “Well,” one of the other executives said, “We had every right to-”

“Had every right to take my husband from me!?” Charlie shouted, aggravated. “Yes, we did.” Charlie stared at them, frustrated. “Why?” “Well, we’ll give you a simple answer: because.” Charlie stared at them, appalled, and disgusted, and on the verge of screaming. “Well if you don’t have anything to say, we’ll-” “In fact, I do.” Charlie said, collecting herself rather quickly. ”I,” she took a preparing breath, “Am leaving.”

And the executives were in uproar. “What!? Why!?” They said, even though the reason for such was given only moments ago.

Charlie chose to turn their words right back at them, smiling with a strain while doing so. “Well, I’ll give you a simple answer: because.” And abruptly turning around, she left, leaving them stunned, appalled, and concerned for their wallets.

Charlie slammed the door behind her, pissed. How did they not care? This was her husband and her child, they her everythings! How dare they. Well her departure would be the karma they deserved, the place couldn’t survive without her. Leaving was a double edged sword, though, but she believed that if she did this right, and repaired everyone, everything would turn out fine.

If, that is.

She stopped in front of Reliviana’s podium, finding her sister awake, but unaware of her recent actions. Charlie then explained herself, Reliviana’s expression getting progressively more and more shocked as she replayed her actions. She had decided she was heading to the Decadent Facilities, and nobody would stop her.

“Charlie, you’re not going to-” “Yes I am. And Reliviana, I’m leaving you in charge.” “What-” “My decision is final.” Reliviana looked at her sister, teary eyed and worried, and pulled her in for a hug, knowing Charlie well enough that she knew she wouldn’t stay. “Just be careful, Charlie.”

They withdrew from the hug, holding each other's hands.

“I will, Reliviana.”

And Charlie walked off, with a hope in her heart that she’d find Mialee.
