"F-F-Father?" Valkyrie asked, in shock.
"Yes, I'm your father." The man that was called Valkyrie's father turned the chair, facing towards Valkyrie. Valkyrie's eyes were even shocking, he— was a child?!
"Is this some kind of joke, are you even my father?! Even if we look identical..." Valkyrie asked. The secretary bursted into the room, walking towards to the headmaster's side.
"Don't tease your daughter, Lord Satan." The secretary said, pushing her glasses that were about to slide off her nose. The headmaster giggled, he immediately 'poofed' into a fully grown man. He was now in a nice, sleek suit with a smart bow tie.
"Alright, alright!" the headmaster giggled. And he continued, "Hello, my dearest Valkyrie, let me introduce myself. My name is Satan, the headmaster of Medallion's Crimson and the lord of the underworld, people do call me Lord Satan."
"Well, you'll probably need some advice about this new world and this new school, my dear. So, let me explain it to you. They're ranks in this world. So, if you go accordingly from the lowest rank to the highest, it should be Baron, Viscount, Earl, Marquess, Duke and Archduke. The Archduke and Duke titles are held by greater demons. I'm the Archduke, and the Duke title is vacant. And there's only one rightful heir to that title and soon to my title too, and that's you, my sweetest. But, you'll need to prove it, by fighting up the ranks. But you'll have to keep quiet about you being the heir." Satan said.
"Why?" Valkyrie asked, plainly.
"It is because my dumb little brother thought that he will become the Archduke, he had a child, and she's in the first-year. Same age as you when he heard me successfully have you. And that girl thinks she's the rightful heir and she'll probably tell everyone in the school about it and her powers. So, in order for you to win, you'll need to win over her, she may look like an amateur, but she could be powerful than you. But promise me not to tell anyone your my daughter, just pretend to be a weakling, it's what maggots do best— I mean you can pretend to be weak but not like a maggot, sorry." The headmaster continued.
"So, anything else? I'm okay to be a weakling. But, why do I have to be the heir?" Valkyrie said after hesitating to answer the question.
"It's simple. In the demon world, there's a big difference of marriage than the maggot world. In the maggot world, you can marry or not get married, it's your choice. But, in the underworld, you'll need to get married that your parents fixed you up to. If you don't agree with that, you'll probably need to get beheaded. If you get the title of Duke or Archduke, you can have that choice like the maggot world. Ah, and whatever tower you'll belong to, I have a special room for you, so just use it without any hesitations. Here's your uniform." The headmaster passed her a uniform.
"Oh, and if you need help, come find me. I will always be here for you, my dearest." Satan smiled. Valkyrie smiled back awkwardly and left the headmasters office.
Valkyrie ran to the changing room before the ceremony even started, she changed the uniform. Thinking that it would not look good at her, but it actually did, almost quite perfectly. The inner dress was a black laced dress with a white collar and the coat was a really deep but bright blue, on the left of the coat, there is a medallion flower which was in a bright yellow and a hint of golden spark in it. The Crimson is just a shade of Crimson light shining at it, with the meaning of bravery and loyal. The medallion means the elegance and the inspirational burst of flame inside of each student of Medallion's Crimson.
A necklace fell out of her pocket from her coat. It looks like it was a secret gift to be found from father. She took the blue chained necklace and wore it, revealing a blue glowing moon-like shaped ring.
After a few minutes of brushing her long, black and curly hair, she had just realize there was just five minutes left to rush to the ceremony. She fastened her new pair of black heels (that were given by the secretary) and ran as those heels can carry her.
At last, she had just made it 30 seconds early. All the first years were at the front table. And they were chit-chatting excitingly. Valkyrie joined them, awkwardly sitting at the side of the table. And suddenly, a clapping sound has bursted in the middle of the air. Valkyrie looked up at the stage, she saw her father— which is the headmaster standing right there proudly, adjusting the mic.
"Welcome! My first-year students! Well, probably if you can see, you are all ranked Earls! So please don't fight for the ranks, everyone in the first year is equal! So, let me announce a very important thing before you all get sorted and start the ceremony. There will be a heir this year, yes, she's the same age as all of you— Age 16— mhm, yes. Ah, and it's a female! For the first time in life! I won't tell you who is she and it's all your responsibility to try and find out who is she! So, let's get you started in the sorting ceremony!" The headmaster clapped his hands, telling everyone to stand in the middle of the hall.
Everyone has lined up, Valkyrie was at the back, struggling to see what the teachers are taking out. It was two cages, one was a very big one carrying plenty of black and brown bats, all squeaking around. And the other cage was a white and elegant cage, there was a glowing blue bat, it was a female as it's crystal-like fur is shining like a bright light bulb. Everyone had their 'Whoah's' and cheers as the teachers were opening the cages, letting them out.
"Okay! So, the sorting ceremony is quite simple, all you need is to stand there and don't move, the bats will pick their lifetime partners themselves. Ah, and that blue bat that costs millions of diamonds is the bat that chooses the heir, although being chose doesn't mean your 100% as the heir, because there were histories that the heir isn't being chosen. So, let's get the sorting ceremony start!" The secretary said.
Everyone was staring at a girl, that was kinda chubby and she's a brunette, wearing pigtails. And it seems like everyone thought she's the heir. Valkyrie thought that the girl should be Lord Satan's niece. So she's her rival.
Everyone has been chosen by the black and brown bats, Valkyrie at that chubby girl left. The blue bat was being confused. The girl was wriggling her chubby hands, convincing her to come into her arms. But instead, Valkyrie was chosen as the blue bat flew into her arms, nipping the ring on her necklace with its little mouth.
Everyone roared as they thought the heir wasn't being chosen. And the chubby girl was crying, because she got a fat ugly bat instead. Valkyrie thought that it was impossible, probably the bat has recognize the ring on her necklace! Well, probably she thought she was being crazy. What bat could be so smart anyways?
"So, the bats will lead you to the groups you will be with for the eight whole years in the school! And there will be four groups, named Moonlight, Quarentine, Sheperen and Daffeniq! The strongest team in the school is Moonlight, led by Quarenteen in the second lead, Sheperen in the third lead and Daffeniq placed last! So, scurry off now with your bats, first years!" The secretary said loudly.
"I think I will call you Grimmie. Because your cheerful!" Valkyrie said happily. Grimmie galloped in the air happily and she pushed her to the table of Moonlight, suspecting that Grimmie chose this table. She looked at the Daddeniq team, the chubby girl was there. Again, crying that she had the worst luck as some of the other teams trying to beg her not to cry.
"Valkyrie!" Zachary shouted. Valkyrie turned at the table where she was sitting and saw Zachary, waving his hand to her. Valkyrie then joined him as she sat the chair beside him.
"What rank do you have? I'm ranked Marquess! And there's only five people that ranked Marquess is in this school. So, I'm suspecting that your father had placed you in rank Earl?" Zachary asked and Valkyrie nodded.
"Don't worry, Only the secretary of this school, your father and me know your true identity!" Zachary said happily.
"Okay! So, I'll probably see you around?" Valkyrie smiled. Zachary nodded back and she left, going to the Moonlight Tower where all of the students in group Moonlight stayed.
"Room 402... Room 402..." Valkyrie muttered as she and Grimmie wondered in the tower, going up the stairs and the floors have red carpets, which was rather confusing because they all look the same.
As Valkyrie was looking at the paintings were moving, which is creepy. Grimmie grabbed her collar and pulled her behind to make her stop, Grimmie turned over that giant door made of gold with diamonds glued at the edge of the door, which shocked Valkyrie because the other doors were made of steel. She stumbled to the door and tried to open it until a dark fairy flew out of the door, yelling "PASSWORD?!" To Valkyrie's ear which made her close her ear.
"Dingleberries Tree." Valkyrie said back, trying keep her mouth shut for asking her passwords loudly. The dark fairy smiled and poofed off away, leaving an opened door.
Valkyrie laid her hands to the door, trying to push it wide open and walk into the room, the door had slammed shut to her back.
Surprisingly, Zachary was there, sitting on top of the bed, smiling.
"Zach?! Why are you here? Your suppose to be at the boy's section!" Valkyrie screamed.
"Oh, your father left a gift for you." Zachary said, wriggling his fingers telling Valkyrie to sit beside him.
"What is it? I mean— the gift." Valkyrie asked.
"Your gift is in front of you" Zachary said, smiling.
"Huh? What are you—"
Zachary grabbed her waist and lock his other hand to hers, kissing her. Valkyrie was almost breathless as he continued the kiss willingly, smothering his lips to smack hers. And finally, he let go of her.
"WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!" Valkyrie screamed.
"I'm now your bodyguard and your boyfriend! Your father's request! Well, it's time for bedtime so I'm going to leave now, bye!" Zachary grinned naughtily and sent a 'peace' sign as he flew out of the window, revealing his broad shoulders and a pair of big demon wings.
Valkyrie felt awkward and slammed the window locked and covered the curtains. Valkyrie blushed and looked at Zachary flying away slowly out of sight. She turned around and saw Grimmie blushing.
"Well, that was a day!" Grimmie squealed and rushed into her small bed which is a blue basket filled with soft feathers, tucking herself in. Valkyrie was speechless, thinking Grimmie would talk and she changed into her sleeping gown and jumped into her bed, turning off the lights and closed her eyes.
"What a day it was, when yesterday was the last day with my mother" Valkyrie muttered.
"What?" Grimmie asked as she couldn't hear what is she muttering about.
"Nothing, go and sleep, Grimmie." Valkyrie said, slamming her face with a pillow.
