FLASHBACK

"Let's do something fun and wild, this is so boring" complained my best friend Liza, next to me from where we were lying on the beach.
I pushed my sunglasses up my face and turned towards her. "Like what?"
Just as she was about to answer we heard two teenage girls talking in loud excited voices and turned to see what the fuss was about.
"Are you going to the party tonight? I heard it's going to be wild." the blonde one said to to a red haired girl.
"The one at Covington? The high schooler's party? That's fairly close to home." The red chick replied
"Yup that's the one. The entire grade is coming, It's going to be so much fun!" Blonde said excitedly
"Do you think Kade will show up? It's going to be a hundred times better if he does" Red head said as they both walked away.
Liza turned to me, a mischievous look on her face.
"No" I said, catching on to her train of thought
"We are not going to crash a rich high school party"
"Yes we are" Liza said, a look of sheer determination on her face.
I sighed in resignation, knowing that there was no convincing her otherwise. Once Liza got one of her crazy ideas into her head, no one could ever talk her out of them.
"Well, I guess we're crashing a rich, high school party then" Liza said enthusiastically.
I simply rolled my eyes at her knowing that I didn't have a choice.
2 hours later, after getting lost about 4 times, we finally arrived at Covington which was an hour and a half drive from California.
The house was pretty easy to find after we got to Covington because there was loud music blasting from speakers and the lawn of the large house was crowded with teenagers. We parked in the lane behind the house in case we had to make a quick getaway; we were crashing the party after all.
We got out of the car and make our way into the large, brightly lit up house. The inside was crowded with teenagers drinking, making out, dancing to the loud music and doing god knows what else.
"We need drinks!" Liza yelled dragging me to the mini bar in the corner. She ordered a tequila and was about to order me the same but I stopped her.
"I'm not drinking tonight" I firmly said leaving no room for discussion.
"Fine, be a killjoy" Liza rolled her eyes
"Let's go to the dance floor" She said pulling me to the center of the room where sweaty bodies of teens were swaying to the music.
I watched as Liza moved to the rhythm when a felt a hand grab my arm.
I turned to see a dark haired boy grinning at me
"Did it hurt when you fell from heaven"
What. The. Actual. Hell
"No, but you're going to get hurt real bad if you don't take your hands off me right now" I gritted out.
Hearing the venom in my voice, the boy backed away at my threat. Wise boy.
Then suddenly everyone on the dance floor stopped dancing and froze, their eyes fixed on the doorway. Puzzled, I turned around as well.
"It's Kaden Lockhart" came the whispers
At the doorway stood a tall boy, he was about 6 feet tall and had a very well defined and toned body with just the right amount of muscle, gorgeous green eyes, a sharp jawline and fawn hair that was slightly mussed and only made him look hotter. He had a sleeve tattoo on one arm and very well defined features. Everything about him screamed perfection and hot. He had a stoic, uninterested look on his face and his green eyes were emotionlessly scanning the room.
As he made his way through the room, the crowd parted for him but he didn't acknowledge it or seem to care. It was obvious that he was a 'someone' judging by the awestruck expressions on everyone's faces and the whispers. The girls were practically drooling over him but he didn't pay anyone a second glance before walking past all of them. An arrogant rich kid, that's all he was. And I hate kids like that. But somehow, even I couldn't take my eyes off him.
Liza too seemed totally infatuated by him and followed him out. Somehow, I had a feeling it wouldn't end well, so I decided to stop her. I quickly followed her but by the time I had gotten to the front lawn where Liza was constantly trying to the boy, he turned towards her
"Are you always so desperate? See this is why I don't go to parties like this, it's because the people here are always so desperate like yourself. Have some respect for yourself and stop following me like a dog" he said rolling his eyes.
Liza looked like she was about to burst into tears any second. She quietly slunk away, visible shaken and embarrassed at the attention she was getting from all the teenagers around who were now very much invested in the boy's words.
I was fuming mad. How dare he to to my best friend like that. How dare he talk to anyone like that!
I marched up to him "Who the hell gave you the right to talk to her like that. How dare you insult my best friend!"
He coolly looked at me with a blank emotionless face
"Apologize. Now. You hurt my friend's feelings"
"Sounds like your problem. If she wasn't so desperate then maybe I wouldn't have had to reject her" He shrugged.
How dare he!
I picked up a cup with some drink that was on the nearby table and threw it at him.
He glared at me. An icy cold glare that could make any grown man run for miles
I glared back for a few minutes before turning ono my heel and walking away.
That is why I hate Kaden Lockhart and he hates me just as much.
