"Hey! Let me out!"
I groaned and looked at the annoying pink fairy who folded its arms and huffed.
"You do know that's not going to happen right?"
"Who cares! Get me outta here!"
"No."
"Why not?"
"You know why?" I put the batch of cookies into the oven.
She huffed, stomped her feet on the glass jar and looked away. I set the timer on the cookies sat down on the chair in the kitchen and read a book. Hours passed and the smell of lovely cookies filled the room.
"Look, I am sorry for what I did." she said.
I hum and flip another page.
"Hey! I said I was sorry!"
I flip another page and this made the red haired fairy angry.
"Hey! If you don't let me out, I will put a curse on you!"
"The last time I checked, you are a fairy. Not a witch."
"Well..." she paused for a moment. "I can still place a curse on you! This time, I will make sure flowers grow out of your eyeballs."
"Not while you are in the jar." I shut the book, wear my oven mittens and take out the first batch of cookies and put in the cupcakes.401Please respect copyright.PENANAP6V46BdYD3
"I can help you bake."401Please respect copyright.PENANA1tpxQSoORO
"You are a garden fairy."401Please respect copyright.PENANABRrKn2HKr1
"I can help you decorate."401Please respect copyright.PENANAvMzVlVpWMX
"I highly doubt it."401Please respect copyright.PENANAGjrMshGBA6
This time she turned red with rage. "Just let me out."401Please respect copyright.PENANA35TCDMvG0w
"Not until you tell me why you covered the whole school in rose thorns."401Please respect copyright.PENANAb8AjN4VxZw
She huffed, sat down on the bottom of the jar and sulked while I decorated the cookies. Cookie decoration was her favorite thing to do and I recall her making a mess while trying to pipe the icing on the them, falling in a bowl of powdered sugar and making snow angels on the flour I dusted on the kitchen island for kneading the dough for bread.401Please respect copyright.PENANAxGZzeA1jlB
"Those kids were making fun of you that's why."401Please respect copyright.PENANAOCtHhhQVgK
I cock an eyebrow at her. "Really?"401Please respect copyright.PENANAErF5L7JZmT
"Listen, I wanted to cover their classroom with rose thorns but I got carried away."401Please respect copyright.PENANAd5UshfbpfM
Shaking my head in at the tone of her voice, I finish decorating the cookies and place them another table nearby. To be honest, taking care of an annoying bratty fairy is hard especially when her talent is growing rose thorns but the night she landed in my arms in a jar was the night that changed my life. Despite her bratty attitude and talent, she was the only true friend I had. Giving me advise, comforting me during my lonely hours, dragging me out of depression...401Please respect copyright.PENANARpPhf3PzTf
I sigh and reach for the jar. Unscrewing the cap, she flew out flapping her silver wings in the air. The wooden spoon fell off the table and as I reached down to grab it, something sharp pricked my butt.401Please respect copyright.PENANAFonOk0w54h
"Yeouch!"
"That's for keeping me there." she said turning up her nose.401Please respect copyright.PENANAbgAuyMNY9N
It takes a full minute to pick out those thorns and check my butt while she stares at the cupcakes in the oven. Soon, they were ready and while I prepared the frosting, she used her wings to blow them dry and we decorate with me piping the frosting and her throwing some sprinkles on it.
"Can we eat them? Can we?" she asks.
"Where is the bratty attitude?" I ask.
"Sh...shut up!"
I laugh and cut a cupcake in half. Using my fingers, I cut a tiny piece of the cake and gave it to her while I ate my half of the cupcake.
Night time arrived and I was tucked in bed listening to the crickets chirp outside my cottage while she made herself at home in my old doll house.401Please respect copyright.PENANAfuT3d6Z7Vr
"So, ready for the big bake sale tomorrow?" she asks.401Please respect copyright.PENANAoqVUHIkxY4
"Mmmm," I shrug.401Please respect copyright.PENANAAeGBi39FNz
"Don't worry, I am sure it will be great and we will make a lot of money."401Please respect copyright.PENANAwIUlrR2mIg
I smile and look up at the ceiling as she talked on and on.
'Yep. I don't regret taking you in that night.'
