Smile came across Haidar face, listening to Nelson reply.
Nelson was getting old. He was 80 at current. But he was wise. Nelson was Haidar's family butler. Nelson always consider the Mansion his second home. So does the Haidar considered Nelson his family as well.
When the war struck Nelson lost his family. Nelson regretted not saving them or not dying along with them. But to cope with the regrets he decided to stay with Haidar, even after Haidar told him to go and stay safe. He wanted to keep safe the only remaining family he had left.
Everyone was like Nelson. Everyone who survived, lived with regret not saving someone they loved.
Falling rain worked like ASMR. In some while Haidar was asleep. Putting his head on table with unfinished documents, work and opened book.
Haidar was woken by Nelson in hurry!
Haidar jerked up.
"What is it?!", he cried.
"Sir!", Nelson looked stressed.
Haidar figured out what was wrong. He rushed toward the command room, smashing every door behind him while Nelson followed him.
He opened the command room door. All the resistance leaders were seated there, stood. There were 18 of them.
"where the attack happened?", Haidar seem paled. Preparing his mind for worst news.
"Explosion was heard last as the Radio went silent dead.", Nelson said.
One of the leader stood up and played the last transmission.
Sound of only huge was heard followed by Statics of dead radio that only filling the silence of the command room. He finally tuned the radio down.
Haidar finally questioned ,"Eastern Command is lost?" but deep inside he knew that was true.
"Yes.", answered another resistance leader.
Haidar fell on his chair
"Sir? Sir?" as the Nelson repeated while rubbing his shoulder.

But Haidar was no where to be found, he was there but not there inside he was in his head planning or maybe coping with truama of losing the Eastern Command.
