I'm not going to vote for my own story but wanted to post my idea for the challenge just for fun. this was written based of a dream more than off of myself
I was racing against time as I saw you standing on the overpass edge. It had been two hours since you got the news of my death, and now I had only ten minutes to say enough to last a life time.
"Alyssa," I whisper your name, afraid that my voice alone would throw you over the edge. Time freezes for a second as you turn to face me. Even with your mascara running down your face, you are still beautiful.
"B-but....your...your...," you stammer.
"I know baby," I whisper. I hear my voicecrack. No, I have to be strong.
"Alyssa, I love you, not even death will change that. If you cant live for yourself, live for me, so that my memories won't die. Help my sister get through this; your her best friend.
" Oh, how I wish I had more time, perhaps a day, to tell you everything I need to..." I trail off as you place a finger to my lips, motioning for me not to speak, so I didn't. I stood there in silence, counting the seconds in my head. When the final seconds draw near, you remove your finger, giving me time to speak.
"I love you."
You whisper back, "I love you too.”
Then as the finalseconds ticked by, I notice a change go over you. You took a step forward. I tried to scream, but it was too late, my time was up, but not before I saw you take the final plunge, your final words on your lips.Sometimes, ten minutes isn't enough, and sometimes its too much
