The world is so crazy rn. I think its sad that we refuse to see every human as just that...human. We give them a label that we think so obviously defines them when it never did in the first place. When they were born, they were 'baby', which meant dumb, cute, and helpless. But when they grew to be their own person, what were they? When they were children, we called them 'child', which meant excited, happy, and helpless. But then they grew beyond those labels, and we gave them new ones. The cycle continued. Then, we gave them others: "Black", "Asian", "Democrat", "Nerd", "Fat", "Rich". There were some labels they could never grow beyond. Some that would haunt them forever. They could grow beyond the stereotypes, and beyond the ideas that their label entailed, but the label stuck. These labels seem to guide our reality. Human beings are meant to grow on their own, with or without labels. The labels start to control us. What are we expected to be, but a fulfilled stereotype? What if we can't accept that one doesn't become an enemy because one never was in the first place? That a soldier fights one who is more simular to him than those in power? What if we refuse to see emotion and humanity for each and every one of us, but we just see each other as labels? What if one label is "ally" and the other is "enemy"? What if one label is "Bravery" and the other is "Savage"? These labels follow us and our actions, even if our actions are defined by what we want, and not what some sort of label is supposed to fulfill. We all want to dreadfully hate. We all want to believe that we weren't once children brainwashed into labels, and that our enemy was unholy since the second they were born. No problems are solved with labels. There is no 'moral' side if we are all human, if we all want to feel and live and love. Some don't, but they are unloved. They deny love and any simple pleasure in life, trying to drown themselves in their own misery to justify what sadness they have commited and the state of their being at this moment. They are unwilling to see their own agency, even in changing their own emotion at that moment. They aren't even thankful to still breathe, to still touch their own skin and know that it wasn't destroyed. To say one last word in the universe, and be their own, unique self. The universe is really one endless big nothing. We are a blue grain of sand on a beach. As far as we know, we are the only blue grain with life. With passion and emotion, which are all fake yet utterly real in our experience. A planet doesn't feel joy or hate, it just emits radition for no reason at all. It doesn't have a will to say yes or no, it is controlled by the forces of nature which give it change and even kill it. The sun can't comprehend. Yet we seem to take every action with some semblence of reason, some justification for a something in a beach of nothing. We live in a universe where we are in a valley, and surrounding us are mountains. Everyone tries to look over the mountains, some even try to climb them, but we should really be looking above at the sky. What's beyond the mountains was never a concern for us. We need to look at the sky to see what's possible, to see the heights and wonders that we as a force without labels and with justice and love could achieve. What we should achieve. It is human destiny to go farther, even if one step is back. If we refuse to see ourselves as un-unique and a gray grain of humanity in a whole sea of that, then we would be lying to ourselves. We are still the blue grain, not the gray one. Their will always be more to create and love. More fulfillment then we could ever possibly imagine by embarking on the journey and living for every second of it, both good and bad. We will want. We will create. But most importantly, we must all know that our purpose here is to be in the long beach of nothing. That we are to go farther, even if we only conquer one grain, then atleast it was something. 198Please respect copyright.PENANAE8FhPl7Ec5
Thank you for coming to my ted-talk. That was a beautifully stupid rant.
