It all started one day when Quionacha was 23 years old and shopping at the market. He was picking out fresh tomatoes, cucumber, corn, beans, chickpeas, apples, peaches, lemons and limes, and a blue pendant. The owner of the market said to Quionacha that he found the pendant in the local creek. It was called Chippendale Creek. Quionacha thought this was a beautiful pendant and that he was surely going to buy it.
After he payed the owner for the groceries and the pendant a young child came up to him and said "Hello sir that is my pendant. It fell into Chippendale Creek I believe. May I have it back?"
"Oh my I am sorry about that but I already bought the pendant so sorry..." said Quionacha.
"Please sir I will pay you the price of what it cost you if only I could have it back." said the child.
"Sorry I already fairly bought it and it is a beautiful pendant. So go away and stop bugging me!" said Quionacha in a harsh and impatient voice.
The child started crying and soon his mother came up to him and when she say that Quionacha caused this trouble she said to him "Have you no shame? My child here dropped his pendant into the lake and he is kindly asking you to give it back and even pay you for what it cost you and you refuse like a stubborn cow and say harsh words to him. I curse you that when you reach home you will turn into a hideous monster that will use children as your slaves!"
Quionacha of course did not believe in curses and thought that the woman was crazy and he needed to steer away from her at all times. However, when he reached his house he was feeling a bit dizzy and then finally he fainted.
When he woke up he could not believe his eyes he was dressed as an Aztec and had a pan pipe in his hands. But then he lost all of his memory. The only thing he could think about was playing his pan pipe at the winter solstice. Whenever it was the winter solstice Quionacha would strike again leaving the family in tears and the children in his control.
