Moon (English)
Disclaimer: aside from Chang’e, Selene, Aphrodite, and Hermes, none of these gods and goddesses are real, it’s just for fun.
Inspiration: FOR MAHINA: Chang’e (Chinese mythology) and Selene (Greek mythology) both moon goddesses. FOR VENERA AND SUEUN: Aphrodite (Greek mythology) Venus goddess, and Hermes (Greek mythology) god of mercury.
Abilities, facts, features, and appearance: Mahina is the goddess of the moon, she can move the moon’s position however she wants, she can make a full moon, a half moon, a crescent moon, etc, or she can make the moon as bright as she wants it to be, Mahina brightens the moon to try and see if the light will be able to point out her beloved and they can be reunited as one again, as the moon gets dimmer, it means her hopes are starting to go down. Mahina likes wearing a flower crown made of red and white roses, no one knows why, but I think it’s because the red and white roses remind her of the Hyacinths and moon flowers her beloved gifted to her in her previous life. She wears a bracelet that was given to her at birth on her left wrist that has bright light blue beads for good fortune. Mahina also has a moon crescent on her forehead to represent her as the moon goddess. She can grant beauty, grace, charm, elegance, and immortality.
Mythology and origins: Mahina is the goddess of the moon but as well as the daughter of Matahari (“Sun” in Indonesian) the god of the sun, and Jopitera (“Jupiter” in Malagasy) the goddess of Jupiter, a beautiful woman or shall I say goddess, who was an independent woman who did not like to rely on others to do anything for her, she ruled over Jupiter quite well on her own, there is only but one desire she longs for, she wishes for happiness, she wishes to smile, Mahina brought her that happiness. Anyway, Mahina was originally a human, a noblewoman named Dunya (“Earth” in Krio) she was happily married with her beloved Dynatós (“strong one” in Greek) but one devastating day, she accidentally drank poison that was put in her cup of wine, she died and rebirthed as the goddess of the moon, Mahina also has 3 siblings. The eldest, Sueun (“Mercury” in Korean) the god of Mercury, Sueun can grant, cleverness, good fortune, and financial gain. The middle sibling, Venera (“Venus” in Georgian) the goddess of Venus, Venera can grant love, victory, peace, and justice. At last, the 1st youngest, Seren (“Star” in Welsh) the goddess of all stars, Seren has the power to make the stars as bright as she wants them to be, and as big as she wants them to be. She grants wealth, fame, power, and success. As you can guess, Mahina is the 2nd youngest who grants beauty, grace, charm, elegance, and immortality.
