A rose

Guarded by the thorns

Her heart

A queen

Guarded by the knights

Her heart

A thought

Guarded by the mind

Her heart

Always guarded

But if you can see

A rose requires sunlight

For it to be nourished and grow

A queen requires a king

To have and to hold

And a thought requires a person

To think it and keep it

So you see

Though her heart may be guarded

It will always be opened

For truly no heart may exist

Without the feeling of love

And those that have

Have withered and died young

Without the true meaning of life

The true feeling of life

For love is truly something of importance

Her heart may be guarded

For the time being

But one day it shall open

And embrace the true feelings

For her heart is a rose

A queen

And a thought

They are guarded from most

Yet open to one

Yes open to that

Which is needed most of all

For her heart is a rose

A thought
