"Ciara Velez, the prettiest and the most savage villainess to have existed, to be madly in love with the good-for-nothing, the overly kind crown prince(for name's sake) who spared not even an ounce of his time on her was pure stupidity. Ciara, possessive and overcome with madness, brings doom over those who try to approach him. Many have lost all their wealth, some, their noble status, and a few, but not very less have lost their lives. But, the prince held in his heart, immense love for Lady Diana, the second oldest daughter of Count Caleb. As a result, Lady Diana was often a victim of Ciara's uncontrollable bullying.
Aware of the happenings, the prince neglects them just 'cause they're not his responsibility, yet. A year after his predicament, he was crowned as the king due to his father's unfortunate death. Tired of Ciara's foolishness and manipulative behavior, he frames her to have poisoned the former king, to finally get rid of the thorn. Ciara was sentenced to death. But little did they know, with her vile personality and strikingly contrasting wises, she successfully managed to escape, unknown to the fact that death, worse than the one she was awarded waited for her..."
"And yes, the VILLAINESS DiEs! and the prince and Lady Diana have their happily ever after :)"
"Okay Nora, Nick, time for bed! It's almost 11 now."
"Okay sis!" they chanted in unison.
Nora, who still hadn't finished her line remarked, "of course, you've gotta go catch your "BeaUTy SLeeP" now!!! hehe"
"Sure I do! Now giddy up and go sleep you, naughty twins!"
"Okay, nighty night!!"
---------------x---------------x---------------x---------------x---------------x---------------x---------------
Sigh. To have finally gotten the twins to sleep, the heavens must have forgiven my sins. As much as it hurts to talk about my own death in the form of nothing but a mystical tale, I don't seem to have another option. To think I, the past me, Ciara Velez would become just a children's tale, it's disheartening. But since, after all these years, approximately a thousand, to have been granted a second chance has finally hit some sense in me. That death, the throbbing of my head, the numbness, the cruelty of nature, vicious, but I deserved it. It was brutal, being unable to feel yourself as you cross oblivion. And suddenly you open up your eyes to an unfamiliar ceiling.
"Is this heaven"
"I'm pretty sure I died"
This is the first thought you have. Two years later, right now, I'm just a plain 17-year-old countryside girl, Enola Ross, living the most peaceful days I've ever experienced.
And tomorrow is the day I turn 18!
As a former villainess, I knew, a plain old world wouldn't do. There must be something else, which makes this life worth it. But little did I expect, I got reborn in a world so different, in a world where magic prevails and mythical beasts are real. But that wasn't all. The secret that was yet to be unveiled on my birthday, was a much greater fright.

My eyes snap open, my face covered with cold sweat, shaking, and my heart pounding, I nervously looked around the suspicious room, which I had barely gotten used to, even after two years, and paranoid that the horror may have followed me here. I get up cautiously, shivering, rubbing my head and eyes to make sure I'm fully awake. I stumble my way to the bathroom, and look in the mirror slowly, cautiously, as if not sure of what I'm gonna see. The sun shines bright through the window, washing away the vestiges of the horror, leaving my soul relieved to return to its mundane existence. But yet it lingers, a gut feeling that something bad has dawned over me.
I dress up and walk out, into the living room, faking awe in response to the "surprise" party they'd planned. I sit to the chair nearest to me and wait for the rest. Celebrations and wishings were soon over, and what came next, was what I was least expecting.
It was time for me to make a choice, a choice of my destiny.
I was old enough to join any of the five clans: Steel Warriors, Earth Souls, The Healers, or the Wise One. The fifth one? It's not a clan, more of a crime squad, called deathly assassins.
As if that wasn't enough, my father dropped yet another bomb on me, leaving me clueless and terrified. But what shocked me was that despite the angst look my parents had on, their expressions weren't that of shock, it was as if this wasn't the first time "it" had happened.
And what is it that I'm talking about?
My dad brought out a dusty, old looking letter with weird patterns and signaled for me to open it. My hands, trembling not from the frosty winter wind, but their terror that I inherited from their looks. Yet, my fingers wrapped around the envelope, and hurriedly took out what was inside.
Another unkept piece of paper, with something printed in black. For a second, I associated the aesthetic with "death," but little did I know, that I would have been right.
It was, a letter from one of the clans, requesting to shelter me as their member, and it was, from those who I least expected to be interested in me, a mere powerless human, with no magic strength, brains or ability, unlike my family, who'd gotten them when they were 16.
It was, from the DEATHLY ASSASINS.
My father remarks in an attempt to assure me that in the end, the choice was up to me, and his effort was clearly wasted. I had earnestly wished to follow in my Dad's and Uncle's footsteps and join the Steel Warrior clan. But neither did I have any magical ability, nor did I have super-human strength. However, what was surprising was that after they quit five years ago, they have been warning me against it, and the reason, they say and I quote,
"A job of honor, it is in other's eyes, but the cruelty and trauma are hidden. We have experienced it, and wish for you to not go through the same."
One choice less, but that didn't make it any easier.
My mum's side of the family is a family of powerful witches and I'm the youngest t of five sisters. The witches have for long had the power to control elements and more. Each one of my sisters except me has the power to control one of the elements, Ela's got wind, Jessie's got the fire, and Ginny has Earth. You all might be wondering, what happened to the fourth one?
Turns out, neither I nor my other siblings know about it, my parents have never told me anything about her, not even her name. All I know is that she was sent away to get treated.
Considering how I'm a foster, Enola is a foster child they's adopted 5 years ago, none of us were sure about my origins, which unfortunately would have made it easier to guess if I had some power or not.
Considering how almost two options are down, I decided to dive into the third one.
There’s an old ancient belief that the ocean and nature were alive once and went silent in response to the appearance of humanity. However, about 300 years ago, the dark assassins started a fight between the living and the dead. The bold move angered the source of life in this world, Mihr. She was an angel from ancient folk tales who is believed to be the enforcer of life. Legends say she still roams the surface disguised as one of us.
And about 300 years ago, the consequence of angering her brought nature back to life, which took its revenge in the deathliest ways. But as her anger subsided, she herself blessed some special witches with the power to heal, to revive what was lost.
And that's how the healer's clan was established.
It's a good choice as well, better than the fourth one or the deathly assassins at least!
The fourth and the most hated one(for me:)) is the clan of the wise ones. Those few ordinary yet not-so-ordinary humans whose knowledge is never ending and can't be understood by most. The reason why I am against joining this clan is,
First, I'm not smart.
Second, school, the nightmare of childhood, has been "forcing" the students to join that clan because that's where the teachers come from. This has made me view it as an obstinate and stubborn clan that keeps accepting hires, which unfortunately doesn't leave a good impression on "modern kids."
And the last, most non-awaited one, the deathly assassins. They've been rumored to have murdered every single person who has gone missing to date, and let me warn you, it's not a small count.
Hah! I sighed and brushed off all these thoughts that were poured into my brain in just two hours! It was my birthday! It wasn't supposed to go like this!
I went out for a breather. It was nine in the morning. As I wandered in those familiar streets, I ended up(DOING THE MOST MC THING TO DO) following a stray cat. It went through tiny lanes, long alleys, up and across fences, through bushes and I, simply followed it, which (AGAIN LIKE IN MOST NOVELS) led me to a suspicious-looking antique store that stood in the middle of nowhere. I lifted my attention to the cat to notice that I was in a deserted street! With just the shop.
The cat, like a regular customer, walked in without a thought(and so did I). But as soon as I stepped in, a shiver ran down my spine.
The cat vanished.
And I was alone, in this antique shop, which unfortunately had no owner around. Reality hit me hard in the face. I realized I had to leave this no-name shop, but when I was about to, I saw on the door, tiny packets of "Birthday Freebies" hanging from the top.
Without a doubt, not an ounce of suspicion, I (I DID, AGAIN, THE MOST MC THING TO DO), went ahead to pick one of em. But before I could take the topmost one, the one with a delicate and pretty pattern, another one dropped right into my hand. It was dark and dusty. With strange snake patterns. Anyways, I decided to go with that one because I couldn't put it back on(I TRIED TT_TT)
I stepped out, and the few minutes I spent in there, seemed to have passed away like hours. It was evening, 8 in the evening! What surprised me more was that right in front of my eyes, was my house! I COULD NOT BELIEVE MY EYES. I turned back only to see that the antique store had vanished!(off course)139Please respect copyright.PENANAXKhwe1sD2f
I went back home, tired with no appetite whatsoever. I tried to get myself to sleep, but woke up soon, at 10, because of the thud I heard from the basement. And...
I HAD TO CHECK IT OUT. (MCs never run out of curiosity, they have an insane amount of it idk why)
I crept down the stairs, trying to make no sound. I felt like a thief sneaking into my own basement. I reached and gave the door a slight nudge and IT JUST HAD TO, IT JUST HAD TO open up with a "creeeeek."
I made my way inside, looking around for something that would have caused that "thud." I was dying, my villainous personality had betrayed me in the dark.
Slow and steady steps, Enola let's not scare away what's scaring you and "EEK!" I shrieked in the smallest voice possible just to see the same stray cat that had let me there!
"Follow Me"
A voice echoed, it was eerie enough to give me goosebumps from head to toe. A familiar yet distant voice, I thought. I felt as if I was paralyzed, I could and couldn't control my decisions at the same time. I followed the cat to where it took me.
A locked room? Did we have one in the basement?
"Open It"
Again, a shiver ran down my spine. I would but the key-
And it fell, the freebie I had gotten from the shop, out of my packet.
It was torn to bits, and had a key inside. (I KNOW WHERE THIS IS LEADING TO, AND THE ANSWER IS.............DOOM-_-)
My hand, on it's own, stretched out to grab it and sprung open the door in a hurry. I was pulled inside, into blackness. And suddenly, a bright light stung my eyes almost blind. I felt a sharp pain in my head, my eyes filling up with tears and before they could fall, I could see, something, a small window? A portal! It pulled me in...139Please respect copyright.PENANA8yP55UZIMD
"This is your world, our cruel world and we live away, far away from the truth."
I thought I would be confused, but what I'd seen from then on, left me speechless.
I realized a lot of things, I wished I never knew. It was painful, and traumatizing, like dad had mentioned.
The world had known steel warriors were the Queen’s lead knights in battle. But during one of their wars, every knight's legs would get eaten by a ferocious beast. While they were still knights, they had to fight, to prove themselves to the Queen that they were just as strong and as powerful as before, and when they did, the queen would bless them with legs again.139Please respect copyright.PENANAPVrUFrC74x
But little did they know that the beast, was the Queen's pet and this was all her plan to ensure her safety.
CRUEL139Please respect copyright.PENANAEG0FBIkTNU

That was all I could think of.
But that wasn't it.139Please respect copyright.PENANAo9tbPs45fZ
We, never read in between the lines, but took the message that was laid in front of us.139Please respect copyright.PENANA9FVjwSHSSe
The witches, whose qualities I had derived from my family, were restricted to only them. Most were cruel. They were divided into groups of different elements fighting for power to rule over the rest. And the healers? They're the good guys right? 139Please respect copyright.PENANATpoaZHa7m8
No! They're scheming to destroy the world by angering Mihr and create another one where they are the most superior beings.139Please respect copyright.PENANAQh6LRAaUd1
The tears stuck in my eyes started to roll down my face, not only because of all that, but because I could see myself, I could see Ciara in them.
I'd wished the last clan would have actually been wise. But is anything in life ever the way you want! NEVER! They were arrogant jerks. The Tower Of Izra, their headquarters was a torture center for those who were mentally unstable and of low IQ. They believed that those who are not wise bear no value and are of no use to this world. They LIVED to make their lives miserable.139Please respect copyright.PENANAWaEZilToOB
I couldn't, just couldn't take it all in.139Please respect copyright.PENANArCGILp19sY
It was too much! And to have thought the deathly assassins were the worst ones!139Please respect copyright.PENANAr5mlV1cJCk

I was cut off before I could finish the sentence directed to myself.
It was back, the sharp pain that made my head feel like it was breaking into two. And when it died down, I could finally feel myself. But within all this, I missed seeing them.139Please respect copyright.PENANAW1tqWKFR86
The room was filled with a dark aura, it was suffocating. A group dressed up in pitch-black robes, almost like camouflage marched towards me.
It was them, those I feared.
"THE DEATHLY ASSASSINS"
"Yes, we indeed are," the familiar voice spoke.139Please respect copyright.PENANAvKYOloyjQ7
It was a girl's. She marched towards me and took off the hood over her head.

AND
CONFUSED139Please respect copyright.PENANAlimCRb0maV
I stared at her with an open mouth which almost dropped to the floor when I heard,
"Long time no see, Ciara."
