This is a sequel to my other story, The Next Steps in Human Evolution, taking place ten years after the ending of that story, so this intro contains spoilers for that story. Chapter 31 can be read first as it is chronologically the first chapter.

The refugees of the no-contact zone have integrated well to their new community, learned the language and made themselves useful and liked while keeping a low profile to avoid the authorities who arrest everyone caught coming from the no-contact zone. The twins still wish to find their old friend from their former homeland, fully knowing that whenever they leave home, it becomes vulnerable for persecution.

32A and Toivo learn about themselves, about the world, about life and about the importance of their family as their circumstances force them to travel through the Hells apart.
