a single tear slipped down the side of my nose as my jaw quivered with rage samual shoved me to my knees in the center of the barn and gripped the chains on the posts with a sigh as he drug them over to lock my wrists in place holding my arms out to the side " scarlet,why...your a smart girl why couldn't you just obey her.." he said softly as if he felt bad for the treatment i was being served.

i head the whip drop to the ground as he loosened the cuffs from the post. my body couldnt move paralyzed in pain as i slammed on to the hard concrete the cool stone felt almost euphoric compared to the searing pain on my backside. he tossed a burlap sack to me that he had cut arm holes in as well as a hole for my head " put this on and cover yourself." he said as he left turning off the lights.

xander stayed by merida until she was concious cleaning and nursing her to the best of his ability's. by the time she woke and told him about what happens in the barn it was already to late as he kicked the barn door open
scarlets body shook violently on the floor as he saw her nude mutalated form. he quickly sprung in to action seeing her mouth begin to foam. he grabbed a loose peice of wood off one of the beams and shoved it in to her mouth to still her teeth and keep her tongue in place as he rolled her on her side. 'shit, what have they done to her' gnash said lending me as much strength as he could to keep calm as scarlets shaking stopped.
he pulled her close to him lightly tapping her face trying to bring her around to conciousness, her pulse was weak and irregular, her skin cool and clammy to the touch. these symptoms were all to familiar...he laid her down gently and gripped the whip that was dropped on the ground. he sniffed it hissing in response as his hand flew to his nose
"Aconitum napellus..." he said feeling his skin begin to tingle. it would kill a lowly wolf in seconds it could even kill an alpha in large amounts. thelma ordered the whip to be drenched in wolfs bane, just the thought made his stomach turn as he vomited in to the empty stall. how is she still alive? he questioned as he looked over to her unconscious form lying upon the floor her breathing labored.

i felt heavy as i drifted in the black abyss of a dreamless sleep, my body felt nothing my mind knew nothing...who was i....where was i? i could feel nothing but the tingling spreading through my nervous system, it only served as a reminder that my physical form was still present.
what was happening to me outside of my head? i didnt know. no matter how i fought against the darkness before me it seemed to only embrace me further. allowing me to to dive deeper in to the comfort of death. i almost yearned for it...freedom.
in my death i could finally escape this life i felt so bound too, but then...what about xander...xander! my eyes flashed open i could feel the ache in my lungs suffocating me slowly. i had to live, i had to fight this. i made him a promise and id be damned if i didnt keep it.
i willed my arm to move and painfully gripped the chains hauling myself to my feet now that the chains had been loosened. my vision was blurred and swirling as my body slipped and wobbled.
i took a rueful step forward, my foot dragging along the floor. i yowled in pain as my knee gave from beneath me driving me in to the floor. i gritted my teeth willing my body to move as i reached my arm out to drag myself forward toward the door hoping to break the chains by sheer will. i knew that to be an indomitable task but its the only idea i could come up with...what i knew for sure was that i needed fresh air.

thelma stood in the study reading one of the many books hearing the rapid foot steps of xander approaching fast. she sighed and closed her book meeting his gaze right as he entered the room. " alpha xander, to what do i owe the displeasure. " she said snidely
"what the fuck kind of sick individual are you?" he said coldly his temper contained to his calm demeanor.
thelma raised a brow as she turned her back to approach the desk as she sat down turning to him and smiling " oooh what crude language you choose to take with me in my home," she clicked her tongue at the last word leaning forward on to her desk her chin resting on her palm " pray tell what ever do you mean with this statement of yours" she responded politely.
" i mean, why is my mate chained in the barn with wolfs bane poisoning!" he said barking at her in an authoritive tone.

i didnt expect the gaurds to greet me at the door when the gripped my arms hauling to my feet and releasing my hands from the chains, i tried to protest but it didnt do me any good my body had no will to move as they drug me down to the dungeons.
they placed me in a cell with no windows. there was a box in the corner with a steal top and a lock on the door, on the flooring in the box were blankets i was to sleep in that kennel. in the center of the room sat a childs chair with a hole through the bottom and a bucket beneath it.
they shoved me in to the chair and strapped my wrists to the arm rests and my feet to the bottom removing my underwear. i glared at them through the loos strands of hair that hung in my face. my breathe came out in a ragged wheeze as i tried to pull my arms from the braces realizing the chair was also bolted to the floor.
when the door shut behind them i was left alone in the darkness, the only light came from beneath the door casting the shadows with every change of shift. i don't know how many hours passed when i heard the lock on the cell click open, exhausted i looked up hoping to see xander or someone friendly. but that was far from the case. thelma hung a lantern on the wall as she approached me holding a knife in her hands spinning it between her hands
"oh look at that, where you hoping Xander would save you?" she said pushing her bottom lip out at me...let these restraints go and ill use your blade to cut that lip off..i thought to myself as i grit my teeth violently pulling at the straps to get at her.
"its no use duckling, i made sure even you couldn't get out. i know how much you love to disobey me so i made sure you have no choice. now everything you do down to how much you shit and piss i will know." she pressed the edge of the blade against my flesh " who is your alpha?" she asked her tone sickly sweet
i gathered the saliva in my mouth and mustered all the strength i could and spat in her face "not you." i choked out as a drop of blood dripped down my jaw.
thelmas face twisted in disgust as she wiped the spit from her face wiping her hand on her skirt as she sliced in to my body peeling off a rectangle of my flesh " wrong answer scarlet. try again. " she said as she began to peel the next strip from my thigh. i cried out in pain as blood poured down my leg. this time a guard shoved a piece of fabric in to my mouth.
after she had finished skinning my thigh piece by peice she decided her efforts were wasted, i was half conscious barely able to stay awake. my body had already numbed the pain. she had the guard toss me in the kennel and chain my arms to the bars on the outside " we will talk more tomarrow scarlet. i do so hope you come around" thelma said once again leaving me in the dark.
exahausted as i was i couldn't sleep. she had drugged the blade with amphetamine to keep me awake to feel the searing pain from every mark on my body. i made no sound as i let the tears fall from my eyes....did she do this to anyone else? or was i the only one she tormented this way? this was no way for anyone to live it was worse than one would treat and animal.
i dont know how long i lay there before i heard the lock on the door twist letting light flow in to the room. i didnt care i didnt bother to turn to see who it was...no one was coming for me i was a traitor to my pack....i deserved this.
his scent hit my nose like a tidal wave as i tried to look over, there he stood stoic as always as he rushed forward to undo the bindings on my wrist " oh my god...scarlet." he said softly

it took me a week to finally to escape the ever watchful eyes of thelmas guards finally seeing the conditions of the punishment it was depraved, i looked to the corner of the room seeing her small defeated form laying there barely present.
when i picked her up her eyes were dialated she made no move or sound her eyes didnt even budge in response of recognition. if she wasn't breathing i could have sworn she was dead. she was completely dissociated from reality.
i scooped her up walkeing out of the dungeon seeing how pale she had become between the grime all over her mutilated body. i shoved her in to the car in the drive avoiding anyone seeing here and nodded to my warriors who had posted themselves near in preperation for her release from the prison in which they held her.
"sir, the clothes you requested" a man with red hair handed me a dufflebag and a robe. he kept his eyes to the ground out of respect as i nodded " thank you sal." i covered her with a robe and drove out of the drive keeping my head lights off. i knew thelma would figure it out and when she did i knew she would be coming for her.

thelma smirked seeing the cars leave. they wouldnt get very far this was assured as she already had her own warriors tracking them in this very moment.
she wanted that girl dead. she needed to be dead, she could not risk it. if people found out about the real reason for her attack on malcoms family they would realize the haunting truth she killed their alpha.
she wrapped her silk robe over her body as she approached her jewelry box on the bedside table picking at the interior paper until she pulled out a few old photos. a blond boy with a bright smile and light eyes he was pale and tall. she pressed her hand to her chest, malcom...you who always believed in peace among the packs, who always saw the good in others..." oh how the mighty have fallen, why did you have to go with her malcom...why did you have to betray me" thelma said softly before throwing the photos in to the flames
