Footsteps echo in the hallway of the basement. They belong to her. She’s slowly creeping towards the cracked doors. A cold blue light peeks through and she sees the shadow of what is being projected flicker through the cracked doors. A film is playing on the other side of those doors. Two characters are moving together and apart. Are they dancing? Her hands are shaking but she wants to see what’s happening on the other side of the door. Not just look at shadows and listen to eerie waltzes. 201Please respect copyright.PENANAa3Nmy2PGGQ
She leans half her body against the door and slowly peaks into the room. She hears soft moaning before she recognizes what’s being shown on the screen, the voice sounds familiar. She leans in a little closer, to get a better look. She has half her face pressed against the door, trying to see what’s happening in the cinema room.201Please respect copyright.PENANA4jpdQBtqBQ
If she had a heart it would be racing, but she’s not exactly human. She gave that up a long time ago. The only thing she is aware of is the film being shown is horrific. Inhumane. Her worst fear given life on a movie screen.
She forgets that she’s not supposed to be downstairs in the basement. She forgets that she’s not the only person in this house and she forgets that anything else exists beyond what she sees on that screen. What happens afterwards is awful, but not as awful as that damned movie she saw.
