My head was in the loop of a noose and the executioner was by my side ready to pull the box from my feet, he did. I awoke sweating “it was just a nightmare, it was just a nightmare” tears streamed down my face, I remember when I saw a boy he was around my age his family had resisted and tried to protect their house from the king the whole family was hung in town square. It was horrible I remember seeing his mother trying to break free from the guards grasp to save her son, she was unsuccessful and she was dragged to the prison to meet a grizzlier fate word spread around the town that she was burned alive privately and then her body was thrown into the castle dump left to rot away. I remember the cruel cold look on the guards face as he dragged away his mother, I tried and tried to coax myself back to sleep but I couldn’t stop thinking of the horrible things that are always happening in town square. I heard a soft knock on the door “Scarlett? You awake?” a familiar voice questioned “yes come in,” the door slowly creaked open it was mother “the king has ordered us to move out “what?” I squeaked.
