A sudden bang on my table, which could only be one person. I shot up pretending to be surprised and shocked by the sudden noise. The class giggled at me.
"Sleeping again are we now? Tell me Ms. Knight, am I boring you?" The teacher asked, which teacher is this again?

I grabbed my bag, walked out of the class, and stood in the hallway in front of the classroom. This is boring, I'm out of here. I walked and walked, looking for a good place to sleep. I went up to school roof, thank God it was empty. I put my bag next to the bench and laid down. It's nice and cool today, I closed my eyes trying to get some rest when something unexpectedly landed on my face. I removed it and got up. A notebook? Where did that come from? I looked around, there was nowhere it could have come from. I looked at it more.
"Death note?" I mumbled to myself.
I smiled, "Ha, what a stupid thing this is. What is it a book of death, any person that dies names appears or something? Ridiculous, but it does look cool."
I opened it, and on the back of the first page was a set of rules.
"The human whose name is written in this note shall die. This note will not take effect unless the writer has the person's face in their mind when writing his/her name. Therefore, people sharing the same name will not be affected. If the cause of death is written within 40 seconds of writing the person's name, it will happen. "How interesting, I wonder, should I write your name," I looked up at the sky.
"Father," I grinned at the stupid idea.
I put the book in my bag and got up, I'm going home for the day. Not like I was planning to attend any classes anyway. I walked out of the school, wait a second, something doesn't feel right. Is someone looking at me? Weird, I continued walking pretending to be at ease but I'm glancing over my shoulders. No one. I tsk, I catch you. I walked throught the city purposely making unnecessary stops but still no sign. I couldn't have made that up. My game isn't that off, dad taught me well.
It's getting dark, wow, how long have I been walking around. I wasn't even having fun; nothing excited me. I walked into a bookstore and bought three books at random then I stopped at a convenience store and bought some things to cook with and some apples. I love apples. Then finally I went home, I walked along the empty street to my house. I'm getting tired of this, so I stopped and turned around.
"Look, I'm seriously not in the mood, if you have something to tell me say it now. Because if you follow me home and try to do something I would hesitate to put you down. I turned around and continued walking home. I stared at my home, it's an average two-story home. I looked at the garage, it's still closed obviously, he's not back yet. I went inside.
"I'm home," I announced to the empty house.
I know it's empty. I put the grocery things in the kitchen, the books, and my bag in my room and then took a cold shower. When I was finished, I took one of the new books I bought and went back downstairs, I left the book on the dining room table then started making myself dinner. When I was finished, I set the table, by decorating it with the apples I bought and put my plate of food there. I sat down at the table, put on the t.v and it was already on the news station as always and I ate while reading the book. Suddenly, I sighed and put down the the book. I grabbed an apple and tossed it over my shoulder without looking back.
"If you are going to be here long well as have an apple while you stand there." I said returning to my book.
"How did you know I was there?" An educated male voice asked.
"I saw you since I left school, but tell me how are you floating? Are you by chance the owner of that 'Death Note'? Anyways, whatever you are, I'm the only one that can see you and that only started when I touched the notebook. What are you?"
"You are quite observant, aren't you? I'm impressed, my name is Light Yagami, I am a shinigami and the owner of the death note."

I smiled, "Interesting, then the death note abilities must be true as well."
"It is, why don't you try it out?"
I looked at my empty plate and got up with it, "No thanks, at least not yet."
I went to the kitchen, washed my plate and any other dirty wares it had. Then switched off the t.v, grabbed my book and went back upstairs ignoring the shinigami in my way. I went to my room and lay on my bed. I noticed he entered my room.
"Are you serious?" He asked.
"What?" I asked confused while reading.
"Are you not going to use it?"
"I'm not interested in using it at the moment."
"I don't understand."
I closed my book and sighed, rising, and looking at him. Tall, shabby looking with a yellow brush for his hair and a skull for his face.
"I'm not ready to use it so stop pestering me."
"You need to use it."
"And who's that?"
"You need to cleanse the world of its evil," his voice is getting agitated.
"Oh, and is that what the last user did?" I asked curiously. I didn't like his tone just now.

I got out of my bed and walked up to him, I smirked.
"I respect you a lot and your ideals. So, here's what, I'm going to give you a chance that I would never give anyone elese. Destroy my desires, eradicate my ideals, show my something better, and I will follow you."
