Sweat oozed from her every pore, drenching her, the heat palpable, exuding from her very being. She reached a shaky hand to wipe it from her face, adrenaline spiked for the kill. She felt something wet and warm, a metallic liquid leaking from the nasty mess that was her lip. It was blood, a visible sign of the situation she was in.
Strange.
She hadn't felt it at all, her body seeming to have shut off the concept of pain and anything in relation to it. This new realisation hit her and with it the fear dissipated. She was now invincible. She grinned, a crazy manic thing, causing more red liquid to fall past her chin, she could practically taste it.
'I'm going to survive', the words rang clear in her head, ' I will not fail'.
She clenched her fingers into fists once again and ran towards her enemy. Feet swift and steady, focused on her target. She swung her fist at him, targeting his face. Her sudden movement caught him by surprise and the punch rang true. There was a loud cracking sound as his nose gave into the assault. He let out a pained cry and clutched his destroyed nose in torment.
It was dawning on him, something in her had changed. She was no longer the person he was fighting earlier. The girl with the calculated moves and controlled decisions was gone. There was now a recklessness to her. It made her dangerous. He felt a small pang of fear strike him, but he pushed it away as soon as it came. He wouldn't let fear stop him now, not when he was this close to getting what he wanted. No. What he needed.160Please respect copyright.PENANAB7Tt30j36a
He shook off the pain, prepared for the next attack. He put himself in a defensive position, ready for anything that came his way. And come his way it did. He saw it coming this time and blocked the punch with his left arm, using his right to jab her in the abdomen. The force of it propelling her back.
She smiled, alarming him completely. A chill went through him as she launched herself like a rocket towards him
As she flew towards him, he prepared himself for the fall. Doubt poisoned his mind and as he braced for the landing...
