I stood over my parents' dead bodies as blood dripped down my hand. The deafening sirens of the ambulances and police cars approached, closer and closer to the house, and all I could do was stare and watch them hurry in, running towards my parents' cold, lifeless forms. My legs were shaking, and I was scared by everything happening so suddenly. There was a strange, empty sensation in my chest as I put my hand over my heart and cried, already knowing it was too late – they couldn't do anything; my parents were already dead.
I stared at the dark figure of a man in the corner. Despite the darkness, I could feel that he was grinning a cruel and merciless grin, finding this situation amusing. Then, a nurse came to me, blocking my view of him. The nurse picked me up from the floor and carried me outside. I looked back at the corner, expecting to see him again, but as soon as he appeared, he was gone, disappearing into thin air.
As the nurse carried me away from what was once my safe home, I realized that something else, something evil, lurked there now – something truly sinister stared back at me.
