,,Would you mind stepping off the edge, sweety? Doesn't really seems all that save what you are doing there." called out an unknown voice. Sam turned around and saw a woman she had seen in the office before, but never really talked to before. It was Cassie, a tall lady, about 30 years old. with long, purple hair and green pupils. If you looked at both of them standing side by side, you would see their looks being polar opposites. ,,You can't talk me down from this, Cassie. Also, why would you give a fuck about someone like me? We barely ever spoke a word in the office, did someone send you up here or what's this about?" Sam responded while taking a step closer to the edge of the roof: ,,I often come up here to eat lunch, but i surely didn't expect this sight up here. Look here, i don't have the slightest clue about what made you want to do this and you probably won't even tell me. But are you sure a random child down there wants to see your mutilated corpse scatter all over the sidewalk? If you're gonna do this, atleast don't involve someone else in this."

Sam, a bit shocked at what Cassie just told her, just feel to her knees. In her heart, Sam wanted to go. But after what Cassie told her, she couldn't do it. The thought of her ruining a kids life that wasn't even involved in all of this made her freeze up. ,,Cmon, let's take you away from that ledge. Wouldn't wanna have the wind sweep ya down now" Now, Cassie was by no means a weak woman. Infact, she was strong. Very strong. So strong infact, that she carried Sam to the entrance of the rooftop, without even breaking a sweat. Sam wasn't fighting back, not that she could have, given Cassie's strength. Cassie walked through the rooftop door and put Sam down once inside.

,,Lighter than I thought you were, lemme tell ya." Cassie said while laughing. ,,This doesn't change a thing, you know. If I can't end it here, I will just do it at home" Sam said in a dull tone. ,,As you probably saw, im quite strong, even though you weren't that heavy. But let me tell you, I will make you stay right here, until you spill the beans. And believe me, I have a lot of stamina." said Cassie in a serious tone. Sam tried to struggle out of Cassies grip, but to no avail. This girl wasn't messing around, she thought. But why was she even doing this? Sam had no connection to Cassie whatsoever and was just angry at not being able to escape this situation. Sam struggled for about half an hour, until she just started bawling her eyes out. All the pain of the last few days were crashing down on her. Sam didn't want nothing more than to just leave this pitiful existence behind, but now there was something, someone even, holding her here, making her stay. And Sam thought that Cassie at least deserved to know the story. She thought to herself, that a random coworker going so far out of their way for someone like her, should at least know the truth. It was the bare minimum she could do for Cassie.

After Sam was done telling Cassie everything while crying her eyes out, everything became silent. Not a word was spoken. Until Sam noticed something. Something about Cassie. She was crying. Sam wasn't expecting this, especially after the display of confidence that was shown to her today on the roof. Sam wanted to ask if Cassie was alright, but realized that she wasn't really in a position to ask that. Cassie wiped her tears and let go of Sam. Both of them stood up and looked at each other. Both of them had seen sides of each other that noone else really saw before. And for some reason, that gave them both some sense of respect for each other. After a bit of time, Cassie broke the silence: ,,Look, it would be unfair and somewhat egotist to say that I will just take you out of this pain, but I wanna help you. I don't know why I want to do that, but maybe it's because I also care about my family a lot. And since I am also no contact with the, maybe I can kind of identify with your situation. said Cassie, trying to return to her normal, confident self.

Sam couldn't believe it. Not only did this person she barely said a word to save her from committing suicide, it seemed like she was someone that seemed to know her pain. Before Sam could even utter a word of gratitude, Cassie, now fully back in her old self, said: ,,Now, we should really get going again, out boss is gonna be hella mad if we don't come back soon. And you know how he can be sometimes. Sam's boss wasn't a bad person per say, he really just had a nick for people doing their stuff on time and having only 15 more minutes of lunch time over the normal time of half an hour you had for each lunch break could really get you in the weeds. But to their surprise, their boss had gone home way early today, which he usually does like once a year. They both just wrote it up to fate doings it's work, more or less.

Before getting back to work, Cassie gave Sam her number. She wanted to meet Sam after work, to address her issue. Sam wasn't really sure about it, but Cassie being Cassie somehow convinced her. They both worked mostly like normal for the rest of the rest of their shift, but some coworkers, being a little curious, noticed that something wasn't quite right about the both of them, but didn't question them about it.

Sam and Cassie finished their (respective?) shifts and met outside. The plan was to meet in Cassie's place, to talk about the issue at hand. Sam was still a. Bit unsure about all of this, but on the other side she wanted to get over this. Cassie offered Sam a ride, which she accepted quietly.
