A train moves throughout the night, the steel wheels grind the tracks and the smoke fills the air with smog. It braves the wastes that are the endless tundra, the cold has yet to claim the running hell. The hulking mass of metal speeds from an unknown point of origin, a secret to be kept away forever. Yet the destination of green and gold has been mistaken for the city of metal and coal, as the train has delved deeper into the mountains. Into a tunnel the train disappears, finally sheltered from the piercing cold. But within lies yet another, a man in a car curled in the corner. He is one who has escaped an icy prison, riding the same train that took him there to salvation. His savior assured him of safety, for the fields of green would be more welcoming than the marching. But misfortune was his friend, and he was riding deeper into the hands of his enemy.
When the train arrived his heart was aflutter with excitement, he could now take his first steps to freedom. Yet the familiar sounds of whiring machinery, the scrambling of soldiers, and the shouts of orders sunk his hopes. He felt betrayed, he only just escaped hell, and now he was lower than the magma. Deep down, a sliver of hope remained. Maybe they'll miss him, and the train will bring him to the fields of green. But the door flew open, and before him was the empty husk of a friend. A marionette with the same brown hair, the calloused pale skin, and now empty green eyes. What was left was a toy to be played with, no mercy would come from them. Klaus was here to seal his fate, yet he was just as much a victim. Both of them were manipulated to believe in lies, yet only he had opened his eyes. Klaus had yet to find the truth, and he hoped when that day comes, if ever, Klaus was able to live the life he never could.
