Distrait, Lily was weirded out that the sun was already high up in the sky. Usually, at this time, her sister would be very angry that Lily wouldn't wake up and they were going to be late for school, so what was with today? Did Lala and Mason leave her or something?

Lily was even more confused when she realized that the wall of the bedroom wasn't red and blue. In her room, Lala's part was red and red and red, while Lily's part of the room was blue and white and blue. 

Then, Lily was also irritated because the bed wasn't as comfortable as hers at home. Plus, the covers weren't blue, it was gray, and she didn't like it. She was wondering what made her room change so drastically and where Lauren was, when she remembered last night's events. Then, she couldn't be more glad that the alpha's brother didn't question her and let her rest.

Lily stood up, a bit dazed. She stretched before walking out of the room. Last night, she had changed into the alpha's child's clothes. It seemed Mark and the alpha had a crazy year gap; twelve. The alpha was around twenty-nine and he had a nine year-old kid. 

Thankfully, the alpha's daughter liked to wear oversized stuff, so Lily could still wear her clothes. Lily thought that she, whoever she was, had an awesome sense in comfortable clothes. It wasn't fashionable, but extremely comfortable. 

"Oh, so you're awake," she heard Mark comment from the kitchen. The kitchen was beside the dining room, and the dining room was next to the guest room which she was sleeping in.

Lily nodded in response before walking over to him after smelling the amazing scent of food. Mason's cooking was better than his, but it was nice to eat different things in a while. She sat down on the dining chair, waiting for her food to be served. She would help, but she couldn't cook to save her life.

"Already making yourself at home, eh?" Mark asked, seeing Lily plopping down on the chair like she was not at a stranger's house. In response, Lily just shrugged and played with the hem of her pajamas. Well, actually it wasn't her pajamas, but still.

Soon enough, Mark was putting down her food in front of her. But Lily wasn't there. She was thinking seriously about something. 

Why couldn't she mindlink?

Lily wanted to be able to mindlink like other werewolves and half-wolves. She sometimes wondered if she was not meant to be a werewolf at all. Perhaps Moon Goddess had other plans. Or maybe she wasn't really her father's daughter, maybe she was switched or something. But that wouldn't make sense because she was born this way.

"What are you thinking about, little princess?" Mark asked. Lily looked up at him questioningly, wondering what he meant by that. Mark, getting the idea, shrugged his shoulders. "I just read The Little Prince last night and I really loved the book that it got stuck in my mind."

Lily rolled her eyes, then shrugged. "I'm just trying to find the reason of why I cannot mindlink," she replied to his previous question. 

"What do you mean you cannot mindlink?" Mark asked again, confused. Which werewolf couldn't mindlink? Even half-werewolves could mindlink.

"I mean what I said. I cannot mindlink. I am not able to. It seems my wolf side is very weak, she doesn't even talk to me. I know that I have a wolf somewhere in me, though, because Ma--I mean, my brother, said I smelt like a werewolf. Plus, I have advanced hearing." Lily shrugged like it was nothing, but sometimes she just thought that she was a disgrace to her family because she couldn't do anything that werewolves were able to do.

"Oh, well, who do you want to mindlink?" Mark asked again, eating his egg. He just felt like eating eggs this morning for some reason.

Lily didn't want to tell him who she was because that might be dangerous. She even faked her name into Marinette because she didn't want anyone to kill her. 

Lily had always hated History and stuff, so she never knew if Crescent Moon had a history with Silver Moon, or if they might be enemies before. Of course, Mark said that all they needed was a permission letter, and then they would be able to go to Silver Moon. It wasn't too hard, and Lily wanted to go home, yes, but she felt something that made her felt like she needed to stay here.

As if she had a goal she needed to accomplish over here in this pack, but she was wondering what. Why would this pack, which seemed pretty big and prosperous, need a help from a little kid such as herself? That didn't make any sense. After all, so far, Lily hadn't find anything interesting in her life and that wasn't really helpful. 

"You're zoning out again," Mark said, waking her up from her thoughts. In response, Lily just smiled sheepishly, but still wasn't saying anything. He sighed. "Assuming that you didn't remember my question, I'm going to repeat it. Who do you want to mindlink?"

Then, she shrugged. "I don't know, probably just a few family members or something," she replied, still not mentioning their names. "Then again, if I suddenly mindlink them in the middle of nowhere, they would be surprised," she spoke her thoughts.

"What do you mean 'in the middle of nowhere'?" asked Mark, "I'm pretty sure I have told you where we are; the Crescent Moon."

"Yes, yes, but the last time I saw my family, let's say, I kind of ran away?" It was supposed to be a statement, but it really felt like a question, and it seemed that Lily was just convincing her own self, not Mark. 

Mark's eyebrows furrowed. "Why would you run away? Did your family treat you badly or something?"

"Or something," was Lily's simple reply. Then, she started eating her own food because her stomach was starting to grumble, and so, the morning was spent with silence filling the air.

Later that afternoon, Mark had decided to bring Lily to the witches. Perhaps the witches could help her. In case you are wondering, some packs out except Silver Moon did let the other creatures live in their territories. It was no problem to them, unlike to Mason.

He planned to make it a surprise, though. So when Lily got inside the cave where the witches lived in, she almost panicked, thinking that Mark was going to kidnap her. She thought perhaps he was like that big, buff guy yesterday, and he was also working for the witches. She was wrong.

The witches over here were really nice, unlike the witches who took away her parents. Lily could actually tell the differences just by one time seeing them. The witches who took away her parents were very rude and probably had anger issues. All they ever wanted was power and land. While the witches here greeted her with a nod of their heads, and a smile on their faces.

The cave wasn't exactly a cave. It was a cave that was decorated like a house. Lily wondered why the witches didn't just stay at their house, but they probably sucked the energy of the cave or something. Lily didn't know much about witches, after all. She only knew that some of them could be evil, but weren't werewolves just the same?

Now, Lily felt bad that her brother killed these much innocent people, because she heard that Mason killed all the other creatures he had met. At least, that was what she heard before.

"Hello, there! Who might you be?" the witch that looked like she was the eldest asked Lily. Her voice was really soft, and she looked really welcoming. At first, Lily gulped and looked away, trying to calm yourself down.

"I-I'm Marinette," Lily replied. The witches probably went through her lie easily, but she didn't care. The only one who mattered was Mark, because he seemed to be in a position where he could boss everyone around. Mark could boss the alpha, the beta, the witches, everyone in the pack.

The witches looked disappointed. Lily kind of got why, but kind of didn't get why. Lily got it that they could see through their lie extremely easily, but why would they be disappointed in her? She didn't even say anything much yet and they were already hating her. Okay, maybe hate was an overdramatic statement. Hate was, after all, a very strong word. 

"What can we help you with?" asked the oldest witch, but she directed the question more towards at Mark. Lily guessed that now, everyone hated her. Again, she was overreacting.

"You see, this girl wants to mindlink her family because she is lost and she wanted to go back home," Mark tried to put it into words.

The witches nodded, probably already knowing what Mark was saying. To them, it was no problem. They were witches, after all. Lily had always envied them because they were able to fly on their broom sticks and everything. That would be amazing, wouldn't it? Plus, they knew almost everything in this world.

Suddenly, someone came in from a door. See? The cave was really designed like a house, it even had doors. Lily didn't notice that door before, though. The person who entered said aloud, "Excuse me, the alpha's brother, Mark, is called by Kollifya. She said she needed to talk about pack stuff with you. She also said, please bring Jewel with us."

That someone walked away again as if her job was done. She reminded Lily of Betty. They both looked really serious about their jobs and didn't have time to talk to anybody.

"I'll be back in a few minutes or something. Go talk to the witches. See you later," Mark said, following the messenger outside. And oh, was Lily afraid to be spending time alone with the creature her brother had been killing all this time.

Once Mark was gone, Lily felt like the tension between her and the witches was slowly killing her. It seemed ridiculous, but it was true. She was starting to shake from the frightening thought that the witches were going to kill her.

Thankfully, the tension was cut off when a witch said, "Your brother does awful things." Lily was glad for a moment, thinking that the silence was finally filled with something, but then frowned again when the words that the witch said to her registered to her mind.

Lily sighed, almost frustated. Of course she knew the not-so-wonderful things that her brother did, but it wasn't her who did it. "Yes, he does," she responded. 

"And we would really like to make you as a bait so he would swear that he would never kill a witch ever again," the witch said. Instantly, Lily's eyes widened and she panicked. But then, the witch continued, "But, some witches do need to be killed, like how rogue wolves need to be killed, and so I cannot do that to him. Plus he has changed, he does not kill every witch anymore. He only kills the bad ones now."

Lily envied the witches because it seemed they knew about her brother's life more than she did, and that was very frustating. Add that to her Frustating List where she stated all the must frustating things in this world were.

First, Mason was gone to find their parents. Second, she was kidnapped. Third, she didn't know anything that was happening at her pack. Fourth, she hadn't heard any news from Mason so far and it was just depressing.

"So, since my brother had changed and all, can you help me mindlink some people, then?" Lily asked again, trying to make them help her. She always needed a little help here and there, after all.
