It's not about the geography.

It's about the crippling poverty.

Juxtaposed with the decadence

We like to pretend is necessary

Because our hearts are hard and empty

It's about the exploitation

The sweat shops, the starvation

The separated families, the degradation

The meagre wages

The hazardous working conditions

The lack of access

To quality education

The lack of healthcare

Of decent sanitation

The lack of warm clothes

Of political participation

The lack of everything

Because of our greed

Yep

Yes

Absolutely

(Undoubtedly)

The skyscraping, steel-beamed greed of our nations

It's all our fault, their sheer desperation

And yet

The waves crash in the sand like a storm that will break any second
