Forgotten, a feeling so deep,

When sadness and silence converge in my sleep.

A normal emotion, yet not quite so,

When joy and excitement pass me by, don't I know.

I sit in silence, lost in my thoughts,

While others chat and laugh, their spirits fraught.

Nobody cares, I think, to hear my plight,

So I swallow my tears, and hide from sight.

I try to fit in, to be someone else,

But my heart yearns for connection, someone to tell.

I fear being a burden, a nuisance to all,

So I suffer in silence, behind an invisible wall.
