So theres this guy named Gav(short for gavrilo but its kind of hard to explain why hes named this). He and his friend are about to a commit an act of terrorism. Hes an extremist who had a terrible childhood but is also relatively ruthless and cunning. I still haven't figured out which supremacist ideology he supports or if I will make up a conflict(the only conflict I can really think of is putting him in the yugoslav wars).
Anyway, right when gav is about to pull the trigger someone grabs him...and takes him to the 1800s in portugal. That someone is Beta, his future great-grandaughter. She claims to be trying to stop him from committing this act because if he did, he would almost kill someone. The person he almost killed would swear vengeance, discover time travel, and become a ruthless dictator(which is obviously very bad). There is also a time police(like TVA in loki) that is trying to capture them. After they narrowly escape their capture Beta reveals that she needs Gav because there is a series of messages throughout time and space created by an unknown ally that can lead them to a hidden technology that they could use to stop the evil dictator. So they team up with a few more members of the resistance to find these clues.
(spoilers ahead, but i doubt this will be a book in the future so whatever)
Eventually, Gav gets kidnapped by the time police and is sent to the future. And as it turns out, his future self is the evil dictator. Gav is obviously freaked out by this. He also uncovers a plot that his future self will get killed, older (dictator) gav doesn't believe this and then eventually locks Gav up, older Gav dies and Gav escapes with Beta(who was in jail i guess). He then has trouble reconciling his future self's evilness and everything he sees on his journey(he sees different eras, cultures, etc. of humanity). After realizing the carnage he unleashes, he finds a way to save everyone and manages to stop himself from committing the act of terrorism. The final FINAL plottwist is that the person who sent him all the secret messages was an older version of beta who kind if sacrifices herself in order to save Gav. I'm still not quite sure how this story would end, I know he sees older Beta but I think it should end on a more upbeat note since they manage to stop his future self.
