It has been almost a decade since Jenna and Fau settled down in that house on the hill, and in those years had gotten one son, whom they named Finn.
They were all living happily together, Dori and May babysitting when needed, absolutely doting on Finn.
Jenna and Fau had both really grown and matured, especially since Finn arrived.
On one of these baby-sitting evenings, Jenna had brought Finn to Dori’s house under the tree.“I’ll teach him to fish for a bit, we’ll be okay. you just go watch that new Shakespeare play.” Dori said.
“Thanks Dori, we’ll be back at the second stripe of that candle,” Jenna said, as candles were often used as timer, with every stripe representing an hour. “we won’t be gone for long.” Jenna said.
“Sure thing.” Dori said with a reassuring smile “say goodbye to mom, Finn.”
Finn walked through the doorstep, into the hallway, “Bye mom!” he said, waving innocently at his mother.

A few minutes later, Dori and Finn sat on a small dock at the edge of the nearby lake, Finn holding a fishing rod, as Dori attached a small piece of bread to the hook.
“Okay, stretch your arms up and way back, then try to throw the hook attached to the string as far as you can.” Dori taught him
Finn tried, and the hook fell a few meters from the dock.
“Nice, you’re learning, buddy!” She exclaimed.
“Yay! now what, aunty Dori?” Finn asked with a giddy smile.
“Now we wait. When the float goes underwater, we reel it in, okay?” Dori said, looking at him proudly.
“Okay!”
As they waited for a fish to bite the bait, Dori felt herself zoning out, thinking of everything that had happened in these years, wondering how Logan and Tom were doing.
What they were doing. Were they still working on getting back? or were they-
“Aunty Dori! it’s underwater!”
Dori quickly snapped back to reality and helped Finn reel it in.
“Oh boy, that’s a big one,” She commented, “Come on Finn, reel it in.” She encouraged him as she helped him reel the fish in.
Once the fish was above water, Dori threw it in a bucket, as it was flapping around wildly.“You hungry, kid?” Dori asked him.
Xypher had finally found a time-period where he could feel demonic energy, he just hoped it would be Jenna and that lowly lover of hers.
It was faint, but it was there.
He walked through a city, clearly very early enlightenment era, so he must be sometime in the late 1500’s or early 1600’s.
he walked around, and he found the globe, famous for the many Shakespeare plays performed on it. right now, he hears one of the players speak: “Let me be that I am and seek not to alter me.”

By the look of the crowd, this was the first time of this play being performed.
This was probably around the turn of a century, around 1600.
Xypher continued on his journey, and his inner compass led him into the crowd.
He looked around, towering over most people, as he looked through the crowd, hoping to find Jenna and her lover.
Absorbed in the play, Jenna and Fau were sitting down in front of the globe.
Jenna couldn’t help feeling like something was wrong.
As she kept watching the play, she couldn’t enjoy it.
“Are you okay, Jen?” Fau asked.
“Yeah… I’m fine.” Jenna lied.
“You sure?”
“Yeah.”

They kept watching, and Jenna’s wrong feelings grew and grew.
Eventually she saw a man walking around the seated crowd.
She knew this man, she saw him once. but who was he?
Her eyes widened as she realized.
Her betrothed had found them.
Fuck, what now?

“Fau, we have to go. I’ll explain later.” She whispered urgently
“What?” Fau looked at her, and then followed her gaze and looked at the man.
“You know him?” He asked softly.
“Yes. My betrothed. We have to go.”
The kept low and slowly crawled towards a shadowed spot, where they could slowly walk out.
“Betrothed? I don’t remember you telling me about that.” Fau whispered
“I didn’t want you to worry.”
Jenna slowly opened the door a little bit.
“Well, you’ve got me worried now.” Fau said
“Sorry.”

They ran back to Dori’s home, where they found Dori and Finn roasting fish above a fire.
“Mom? Dad? what’re you running for?” Little Finn asked.
Dori was alarmed by their haste. “What happened?”
“My betrothed found me.” Jenna whispered to Dori, so Finn won’t hear, “Demons can feel the presence of other demons, so he knows I’m not there anymore. we have to hide.”
Dori nods, “I’ll make a room so deep underground, he can’t sense you. how far off could he sense you?”They start discussing the technicalities as they walk in.
Finn asks his father, “Dad, what are they talking about?”
“I don’t know either, kiddo”
