i had a dream

i got everything i wanted

not what you think, and if I’m being honest it might’ve been a nightmare,

that night flooded back into my head

i felt the cold in the air

i knew it would be so rare

for me to ever love again,

to anyone who might care

i never needed you anyway,

thought i could fly

so i stepped off the golden,

nobody cried, nobody even noticed

it was just a dream, gone to the extreme

i tried to scream, but my head was underwater,

then the light shined through

from that moment, i just knew,

everything else was a blur

it was you i focused on

nothing else mattered,

you gave me a chance to love again

not just you, but myself too,

you hugged me on a cold day

and you said

“as long as i’m here, no one can’t hurt you”

you were right, not even myself could hurt me,

not anymore.
