Another Lord of the Old Ones,

Preferring the depths of the ocean.

Mighty Cthulhu in R'lyeh,

Near ancient Cathay.

Dagon inhabiting a deep chasm,

On the sea-floor, which is unknown.

He is known as the Kraken,

By others the Leviathan.

He sleeps and dreams,

Not imprisoned as Cthulhu.

The waters protect Him

From the poison of the stars.

At time He wakes;

Traversing the sea-depths.

Visiting His children

Just like Flexible.

He can approach the shore,

But no further; stars repelling Him.

Shallows He is able to endure,

Afterwards retreating to the depths.

The Deep Ones His eyes into the Sea,

And men His hands upon the land.

Vast is His body, silvery scaled.

His hands as those of a man

But longer and webbed between,

Same as His feet.

His head as the head of a dolphin,

Joining to His body without a neck.

In His domed forehead, is set a single eye

Greater than the round shield of a warrior

Being devoid of a lid it never shuts,

Even when He is asleep...

Emerging into the shallows

Walking upright and bent forward

With His long arms dragging into the sea.

His voice is deeper than the largest bell

And may be heard for leagues,

Which is broad and set low on His head.

His body being translucent,

Passing the light of the Moon;

As through a cloudy crystal,

For He ventures under the Moon,

Never under the light of the Sun.

Subject neither to age or decay,

Dagon is evermore deathless.
