Quietness filled the atmosphere, the only sound of the utensils. The chattering of others were just whispers to her. She could only hear silence. She tried to take another bite, but she couldn't. She was only halfway through her food. She stuffed the next scoop inside her mouth, forcing herself to chew on it.
It wasn't because the food was shit but it was because she reached her limit of eating. She'll gain massive weight the more she eats. Jiao Huang noticed it before taking her plate, taking the remaining of food on the plate with exchange with his which was nearly empty but the prawns left for her to eat.
"Ai Jia told me you don't eat much nowadays, have the prawn, it was your favourite before you left to Korea," Jiao Huang said before adding chilli on her prawn, knowing that she likes spicy foods. Jia Xuan's mouth curled into a smile, he remembered that she likes spicy foods.
Soon when they ended eating, Jiao Huang paid for the bills even though Jia Xuan insisted on paying half of the bills. "It is a date. It is only right for a guy to pay for his girl's meal," He said to her before giving his card.
"What year are you even living in? It is literally the 21st century. Splitting the bills is much more sensible," Jia Xuan said as she looked at her phone, to send her money to Jiao Huang to pay him back. Jiao Huang took her phone away, getting out of the page before handing it back to her.
"I'm not accepting it at all, you hear me? I treat my girlfr- my date with care and luxury," Jiao Huang said, fumbling over his words a little. Jia Xuan raised her eyebrows as she heard him fumble his words before softly chuckling.
"At least Jiao Huang is doing what he should be doing," Ai Jia shrugged as he looked at his sister with Jiao Huang, "He better treat her with care or I will kick him till he can't have babies."
"Keep it at age brother. Quickly follow them," Lu Yue said as he quickly ran after them. They all stood up, leaving Lao Mao and Xiao Pang alone.
"They left us... I ain't paying the bills," Lao Mao said, making a run, leaving Xiao Pang all alone there with the waiter giving him the bills. Xiao Pang mentally cursed as he gave the waiter cash before telling him to keep the change, making a dash.
Jia Xuan walked beside Jiao Huang as he helped her carry the bag of plushies. She blames him for catching that much of plushies even though her room has at least half of the room filled with them. Apparently right now, they are fighting on who is getting the movie tickets. The non-stop bickering between them was not a headache to the two but to the five who are hiding behind a pillar.
"When can they stop bickering on the bills," Lao Mao sighed.
"Relax, first date. It's normal," Lao K said. Lu Yue smacked Lao Mao and Lao K's head. 8Please respect copyright.PENANA9RxFri3HXm
"It is not their first date. They dated before. Just that it is the first ever since she came back to China. Also, it is their love language to quarrel and bicker. I have been noticing it since forever," Lu Yue stated as he took out his phone taking photos before sending it to Chun Fang.
"Seriously, are you serious, you want to watch this horror movie? You literally screamed till you bit my hand, it bled by the way," Jiao Huang said as he showed his hand, the non-existent bite mark on it.
"I'm serious. I'm ready to watch that shit. Like what could go wrong honestly. A few screams here and there. It's fine," Jia Xuan said as they continued to queue in the line.
"I am not risking myself to get abuse by you just so you know," Jiao Huang said.
"Boring. You rather some romantic shows isn't it?" Jia Xuan teased as she looked at Jiao Huang. He led out a scoff when he heard that. 8Please respect copyright.PENANA4zj7RhIUrq
"Romantic shows? Who is the one who spend half of her time binging on K-dramas?" Jiao Huang said, bending down slightly, to match her height. Jia Xuan pushed his forehead with her index finger, quiet. "Speechless?"
"Just so you know, they are one of the best dramas I watch. Twinkling watermelon, Lovely Runner, The Glory, All of us are dead, Duty after School, Night has Come and so much more," Jia Xuan scoffed, "They are much better than what you think."
"Come to think of it, who is the one who started screaming when the zombies start flooding the screen? I wonder," Jiao Huang said, as he started thinking. Jia Xuan stepped on his feet as he started hopping, his hand clutching his feet. "Two tickets..." 8Please respect copyright.PENANAUafQ9vk6ZQ
Jia Xuan handed her money to the cashier before walking away with the two tickets and food, leaving Jiao Huang to have the need to run and catch up with her.
"5 tickets of that same movie," Lao K said as he paid for the tickets, before Lu Yue pulled them to the room, hiding behind the two a few seats behind.
Jiao Huang looked at the girl who was looking at her phone, waiting for the movie to start. "You can take out your mask you know? It's dark here," Jiao Huang whispered as he tilted his head, to whisper to her ear. The side of her face tickled as she felt Jiao Huang's breathe hitting her cheeks.
"I rather not. What if someone has some super good eyesight and spots me? I don't want to be headline news," Jia Xuan said as she pushed his face away from her.
"But the headline news ain't going to be just you but also with me," Jiao Hung joked as he folded his arm.
"I don't want to headline with you," Jia Xuan scoffed as she did the same action that Jiao Huang did.
"But if you do, I am gladly and willing to do so," Jiao Huang and Jia Xuan said at the same time, turning their head at the same time, facing each other. Not realising that they were so close to each other, unknowingly somehow, their nose were touching each other.
Lu Yue snapped a photo of it, swearing to his life that he will never show that to Jia Xuan other than using it as a blackmail to just get money from her when he rich like hell.
Ai Jia covered his mouth, trying to prevent him from yelling at them while his other hand squeezing Lao Mao's hand.
Jia Xuan looked back at the screen, the moment the movie started. Her hands covering her eyes 99.9% of the time. Jiao Huang just kept laughing whenever she had a jump scare. 8Please respect copyright.PENANApkXsxyKImz
"I told you, you can't survive in this kind of shows. Admit it," Jiao Huang said as he still continued to laugh at Jia Xuan who was seriously traumatised by what the movie did to her. It was obvious she was scared.
"Shut up," Jia Xuan muttered as they made their way to the carpark.
"Don't watch any of those anymore. You'll get nightmares soon. Probably tonight," Jiao Huang said, "But if you got any and you need someone beside you, there is always an available number for you to call and is 24/7 free." Jia Xuan scoffed as she placed on her seatbelt. 8Please respect copyright.PENANAWxuDbTsEMb
"No worries, there won't be a need to do so. I won't get those kind of nightmares. No worries of that," Jia Xuan said as she looked at Jiao Huang who started the car. 8Please respect copyright.PENANAJnUuC3H9sy
He looked at her, nodding his head, acting as though she won't do anything like what he said. "You know, you should give me some signed albums of yours. Like it is quite expensive here," Jiao Huang said as he looked at her. 8Please respect copyright.PENANA1qvXNQryfV
"Taking advantage of me already? How sad of me," Jia Xuan said as she looked at her newly done nails, "Trying to flex your way through? I mean I can give you a signed album buttttt... I can't give it to you for free." Her hand making some gestures, signs of needing money.
"Money lover," Jiao Huang muttered before placing his hand over hers, putting it down, "I'll think about it. If it is over my budget, I'll just take your signature." Jia Xuan pouted before looking out of the window, not bothering about the fact that Jiao Huang''s hands were over hers.
Reaching back at the villa. Jiao Huang carried the bag of plushies up to her room, placing it at the corner. "Thanks," Jia Xuan said as she threw her bag on her bed.
"Don't dream of anything stupid and come running to me tonight. If you actually mean what you said earlier on," Jiao Huang said as he walked out of the door. Jia Xuan let out a huff before pushing him out of the house.
"I won't. Just believe me for once," Jia Xuan said as she got ready to close the door. Jiao Huang let out a chuckle before moving a step closer to her, placing a hand behind her head, leaving his lips on her forehead.
"I'm leaving. Bye," Jiao Huang said as he walked away, waving a bye, acting as though he didn't nothing just now. Jia Xuan stood there, a face complete red like hell. Her cheeks heat up, it suddenly felt like the surroundings was terribly hot and there was no cooling wind around.
Jia Xuan looked around seeing, Lu Yue with two hands on the phone, mouth wide open, probably hoping for a fly to come and get eaten by him. Lao K, Lao Mao and Xiao Pang standing over there, acting like crazy fangirls. Funny how Lao K got dump and he is acting like that. Ai Jia kicking and punching the air non-stop.
"What the hell are y'all standing there for?" Jia Xuan said as she smacked her forehead for being dumb, "Yall literally followed me and Jiao Huang all the way isn't it?"
They started looking at the sky, mumbling random words, avoiding looking at her eyes and answering her questions. Jia Xuan sighed before walking inside, to her room. She quickly took a shower before lying back on her bed, knock out from the entire day. 8Please respect copyright.PENANAB8LBAOuCor
She looked at her phone, seeing a photo of her and Jiao Huang that Lu Yue took a picture of. Her eyes looked at Jiao Huang's figure before having a smile spread on her face. The way they don't talk to each other coldly anymore. The way that they are laughing with each other. It felt like last time. Deja Vu.
