[WP] You hear your name and turn around only to see her. The one who got away.
Prompt from r/WritingPrompts by ryucheese23
It was midnight in one of the village in Japan, and Hiroshi was in his bedroom - having difficulties to sleep after he heard someone calling his name for almost a week now. What's more concerning is that he's the only one who's awake, both of his grandparents had fallen asleep not too long ago. "I could've told them about this but... I'm not sure if it's a good idea." said Hiroshi, his eyes was still wide open despite laying down on the futon. Even if he managed to fall asleep, he would still hear his name called and cause him some discomfort.
With no other options left, Hiroshi quietly got up from his bed and brought his flashlight with him before heading outside without anyone noticing. He took a deep breath before making his way to the place where he first heard the voice - the forest, switching on his flashlight and followed the trail deeper into the forest. The sound of silence and eerily howling winds filled his ears, but he never let his guard down. The voice calling him grew louder the further he followed the trail with the mist became thicker but still visible for him to walk carefully.
Eventually, the thick mist disappeared, and Hiroshi found himself in an open field. There's no sight of life - sounds of insects, animals, or presence of other people around him, except for a large withered tree in a distance on a small hill. He looked around the area for a while, hoping that he could find at least someone nearby, but to no avail. However, the voice was audible but it was near the withered tree, nowhere else. Hiroshi walks up towards the tree before saying, "Hello?! Anyone there?!"
But there was silence, "Weird... Usually I'd heard someone calls me every minute... Has it stopped?" He thought to himself as he examines the tree. As he does so, he can feel something ghastly following behind him. He quickly turned around, but he saw no one. That's when he turned his head back, only to see a woman standing in front of him. Hiroshi stumbled back in shock before tripping onto the root of the tree, causing him to roll down the hill.
Once he stopped rolling, he looked up at the woman. She was wearing her old high-school uniform, looking down while smiling at him. Hiroshi had a stare down with the woman, "Who are you? Are you the one who kept on calling me?!" Hiroshi asked her. The woman flew towards him before stopping close enough to see her face completely, his eyes dilated in shock as anger started to fill him up. He knew who she was. It was Seiko, his insane former stalker, and the one who killed his friends and his parents.
"Why are you here...? Why are you still following me?!" Hiroshi asked her, his teeth gritted as he demands answer from the girl who have been stalking him since his high-school life. To make things worse, she was the one who killed most of his friends to a point where there's no one, not even the new students who enrolled to the same place he studies, wanted to be friends with him.
Seiko was still standing in front of him, looking at him intently with 'innocence' as if she's convincing him that the things she did was for both his and her own good, but Hiroshi didn't buy it at all. He remains defiant towards Seiko, as the memories of him seeing the bodies of her friends and his parents flooded his mind. "Are you just going to stand there and... 'admire me'?" Hiroshi said sarcastically as he tries to make Seiko at least respond to him other than the smile she's wearing.
Seiko suddenly chuckled softly as she slowly change it into a maniacal laughter. Hiroshi's rage was replaced with fear. With whatever strength that he had left, he got up and decided to run back to the forest, only for his vision to distort - making the forest looked far away from where he is. He kept on running without looking back, fearing that Seiko was chasing him.
As the distance between the two grows closer, Hiroshi could feel that his legs started to give up on him. Seiko finally caught up to him and tackle him down on the ground, forcing him to look at her crazed face. He could hear the words of her feelings started to ring inside his head, overwhelming his head as his consciousness slips away. The last thing that he heard before he passed out was - "You're mine now... Hiroshi~"

Hiroshi heard his name being called, but it wasn't Seiko's voice. He struggles to regain his consciousness as he tries to identify the person's voice. His vision was a bit blurry from his scuffle with Seiko, and turns out, it was actually a villager, accompanied by two other villagers. "Hiroshi! You alright, kiddo?!" said the man as he looked around his body for any injuries.
"Wh... What happened?" Hiroshi asked weakly. The villager told him that he bumped his head hard onto the tree, causing him to suddenly pass out. The other villager told him that his grandparents found out that he snuck out and was worried sick. "Did something possessed you, Hiroshi? We can bring you to the monk and get you checked up..." asked the third villager, but Hiroshi lifted his hand up, "I'm alright... It's nothing really..." The three villagers wasn't convinced by Hiroshi's statement, but he still insist that he's fine. With that, the villagers lead him back to his grandparents house and asked him to rest.
Hiroshi finally laid down on his futon, now that the voice of Seiko finally disappeared, he can finally rest peacefully. As he looked at the roof of his room, he thought about what happened during his encounter with Seiko. "It's just awful of her... killing people and think that it would make me accept her... feelings..." he thought while thinking back of the crimes that she did before falling asleep.
Once he finally reached his dream world, an unknown entity - Saeko was looking at him from afar, admiring at his sleeping state.
