Peter's POV
As soon as T.Y.R.O. woke me, I immediately got up. I went to the bathroom to take a quick shower, and instead of putting on actual clothes, I put on my new suit.
I checked myself out in front of the mirror, and my God, I looked so cool. I gave myself finger guns and smirked.
Suddenly, a ball hit my back, and I turned around, annoyed.
"Hey, what was that for?” I asked.
“You know I can read your mind? You're not cool; you just look stupid,” Shadow huffed.
Shadow is a superhero in training like me; she joined a few weeks ago, and her power is telepathy, so of course she uses it to bully me and not actually for the greater good.
We're not exactly friends, but there aren't that many people here, so we don't really have a choice.
I managed to muster a quick “shut up” before I left the room.
“Are you sure you are going to be able to defeat this villain, or should we get Nic?” She yelled, running up to catch me.
I flipped her off and made my way downstairs to get breakfast before I left because I can't fight someone with an empty stomach; that's just common sense.
“I think they know that the only dumb person here is you,” Shadow clarified.
Ahh, I forgot. Another one of Shadow’s abilities is that she can also “talk” to what she calls “the readers,” whatever the hell that's meant to mean.
She says they read what I do, which is so weird. Don't they have anything better to do? I mean, my life is pretty boring.
"Right,” I decided to respond with.
When I got to the kitchen, I immediately opened the huge, grey fridge and took the milk from its place. I checked the expiration date because I don't remember the last time Natalie went shopping, and thank God it wasn't. I smelled it just in case.
I poured the milk into the bowl and placed it in the microwave.
“What are you doing?” Shadow asked.
I rolled my eyes. “What do you think?”
She gave me a look, making me sigh.
“Look, can you just leave me alone?” I growled.
“Today is like a really big day for me, and I don't want to mess up.”
Shadow chuckled, raising her hands up in surrender.
“Ok, ok, whatever.”
I flinched a little when I heard the microwave beep, but I shook it off. I was going to fight Havoc today. I can't get scared of things as small as a microwave beeping.
I took the bowl out of the microwave.
“Hey!” Shadow yelled.
“Hm?”
“Isn't the bowl hot?”
“Oh, it is,” I acknowledged.
“Oh, it is.” Shadow mocked me, walking up to me and grabbing my hand. “How is your hand not burned?”
“Um, I don't know,” I said. “I guess it's another one of my powers.”
“Oh,” she murmured, dropping my hand.
I smirked. “You seemed pretty worried.”
She scoffed, “No, I wasn't.”
“I think you were.” I smiled, pouring cereal into the bowl.
“Shut the fuck up.”
I finished eating my breakfast and added the bowl to the buttload of dishes in the sink.
‘T.Y.R.O. can clean them, I'm busy’ I thought.
“Anywats, I got to go, you'll see me later when I'm on the news,” I grinned.
“Whatever”
“See you”
“I hate you.”
‘Love you too’ I thought, knowing she was reading my mind.
**
I made my way towards where I heard the Havoc once he came into view. I sped up.
I ran faster and faster, but I quickly ran out of breath.
‘How can I catch up to him now?’ I thought.
Then it clicked. I had a weird idea: scorpions normally crawl, right? So what if I start crawling? I know, I know that's a crazy thing to do, but I had to try something.
I turned red while I placed my hands on the floor. I started to crawl. I looked like a baby, but I was able to go faster, so that was all that mattered.
I managed to catch up to Havoc, and what I saw was insane. Buildings were tilting, cars were lifted into the air, and citizens were scrambling for safety, screaming and tripping.
“Hey!” I shouted. “You need to stop what you're doing.”
Havoc turned around and laughed. “Yeah? What are you going to do?”
That made me furious. Why is he being such a dick?
“Fine, then I guess I'll just have to stop you.”
“Ohhh,” he sneered. “Did you hear that? He's going to try and stop me.”
He brought his hand up to his chest; he had some kind of power glove. I was confused until I realised he was going to shoot me.
I used my agility and speed to my advantage, weaving through the air and dodging Havoc’s blasts. However, Havoc's power was overwhelming, and I was slowly losing ground.
In a desperate attempt, I got behind him and used my super strength to pick him up and throw him towards an abandoned building, hoping he would get tired and I would be able to disable his device. However, Havoc got up like it was nothing and blasted me upwards. When he stopped, I was relieved, only to figure out that I was falling at lightning speed. It's times like these when I wish I could fly.
I was injured and seemingly defeated. I realised that I needed a new strategy, a way to exploit Havoc's weaknesses so I could defeat him, but I didn't know what.
The city was left to pick up the pieces of Havoc's destructive rampage. I felt really bad. This was all my fault. What are the Noveas going to think of me now?
I could see a woman approaching me, probably a news reporter, so I had to get out of their way if I was interviewed. She'd probably ask me all these questions that I don't even know the answers to.
It's embarrassing to admit, but I ran away. I had to get away. I had to go back to the castle. I was crying non stop throughout the journey, but I quickly wiped my eyes before entering. Nobody could dare see me like this. They would think I'm a fraud and that I didn't deserve to fight the havoc, but I know I did.
I promise, I'll find a way to defeat him.
**
2 weeks later.
“Ok, so last time I tried slowing him down by putting that really sticky glue on the ground, but I ended up getting stuck and he was able to get away, but I think this plan would work. What do you think?”
“I think Havoc is going to kick your ass for the third time this month.”
I punched Shadow not so gently on the shoulder.
“Can you be serious for once?” I said, clearly irritated.
"Ok, you want me to be serious?” She asked.
“That's what I said, yeah.”
“I think, no I know your plan isn't going to work; it's complicated and doesn't make sense. I don't even know how you came up with this,” Shadow said.
I sighed. “What do I do then?”
‘Maybe I should wait for the Noveas to come back; I can't do anything.’ I thought.
“That's not true,” Shadow argued.
“I really need to remember you can read minds.”
She laughed a bit at that.
“Look, I know the plan is not your best piece of work, but there is a reason Troy Gibson and Steven Kent let you do this on your own. They believed in you, and you have to believe in yourself as well, or else you will never be able to defeat Havoc,” she explained.
I smiled, "Thanks, Shadow, that means a lot.”
Little by little, the corners of her mouth turned upward. “Yeah, yeah, whatever.”
I pulled her in for a hug, and instead of pushing me off like I expected, she wrapped her arms around my body and hugged me back. That made me beam.
‘Maybe I can defeat Havoc’ I thought.
**
“Well, if it isn't my greatest enemy,” Havoc grinned.
I gritted my teeth in anger. I have fought this man twice already, and I want him gone. Just looking at him makes my blood boil.
Havoc laughed, “Arachnite, is it? I wouldn't call you a knight, though; have you seen the amount of damage you cause innocent civilians?” he laughed cruelly.
“Some superhero you are.”
I thought about what he was saying: Was it really my fault that innocent people are getting hurt? No, that can't be true; he's the bad guy, not me.
“Look, I don't want to fight you, even though you're an asshole,” I yelled.
“Oooh, did Mr. Arachnite just swear? I don't think that would look good for your image, darling,” he taunted.
I tried to act tough, but inside I was frightened, and him calling me “darling” didn't help at all; it just made me really uncomfortable.
“Cut the bullshit, man,” I grumbled.
“Just fight me, or are you too scared?”
I know that probably wasn't the right thing to say, but I can't help it. This guy is so annoying.
“I can promise you, I'll never be scared to fight you.”
Without warning, Havoc lunged at me, drawing a sword that seemingly appeared out of thin air. As he leapt towards me, intent on striking me down, I deftly sidestepped his attack. With a thud, he landed on the ground, but before he could recover, I swiftly delivered a powerful kick to his jaw, causing him to stagger backwards.
“We really don't have to fight, please, can we just talk?”
He rose to his feet, chuckling.
“Oooh, Darling just wants to talk, we'll, isn't that just too bad?”
Seizing the opportunity, Havoc swiftly swept my legs out from under me while my attention was elsewhere, causing me to hit the ground hard. I grabbed a nearby rock and swung it at him, catching him off guard and knocking him back.
My head was throbbing with pain, but I had to get up or I would be killed.
As we continued to engage in hand-to-hand combat, I could feel the adrenaline pumping through my veins. His sword sliced through the air, narrowly missing my arm as I dove and weaved to avoid his attacks. I knew that I had to find a way to gain the upper hand in this fight.
I saw an opening and took my chance, delivering a powerful punch to his stomach that doubled him over in pain.
I'm not going to lie. I felt kind of bad for him. I mean, I know Havoc's a villain and all, but he's a living being, and maybe he turned into a villain because the world did him dirty and he's just misunderstood? We never know.
I approached him to inspect the damage I had done. Little did I know it was a horrible move as he drew his blade from under him and sliced my arm. It hurt so much that I stumbled back and clutched my arm in agony. He smirked and dashed up to me, knocking me to the ground and raising his sword in the air to give the final blow.
“It looks like this is the end of you, darling,” he said.
“Please, you don't have to do this.”
“It's too late for that,” Havoc said, grinning down at me.
‘Fine’ I thought. ‘If this is the way I die, then so be it,” I thought.
“Sorry, mom,” I mumbled, closing my eyes and bracing for impact.
…
It's been two minutes; why am I not dead?
I opened my eyes and saw Havoc at least twenty metres away from me. I got up confused.
“What the fuck?” I wondered, confused. “What happened?”
“You almost died, but thank God I was here to save you.”
The voice made me jump.
“Who are you?” I asked.
“People know me as the Viper.”

Author's Note!
Hello, my Luvs! I apologise for not posting a chapter for two weeks. I was unwell and needed some time to improve my health, but now I'm back and better than ever! What do you think about this chapter? I literally cannot write battle sequences, so please ignore them. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the chapter and have a wonderful rest of your week!
