Good evening. My name is Annette Ashford and I reside in the city of Seneca, South Carolina. My family and I have dwelt here since its birth in the 1800s and we have thus, lived a relaxing existence. I say existence because we are vampires and my existence over the centuries has been rather….interesting. I have recently began seeing a human by the name of Connor Hacking. He is an interesting human, capable sparking my interest in many things, but he is not what I wish to speak about though I love him dearly. I wish to tell you a tale and it is my dearest hope that you learn from it.
My tale begins in the city of Williamsburg, Virginia. The year was 1984. My father was visiting this place upon business and I had grown tired of sitting in my domain with little to nothing to do. I needed time away from my brother Charles and his consistent group gatherings and also from Sara, who cannot for all her power, remove that joyous mood from her being. Therefore, I accompanied my father on his trip.
We had arrived in the city upon the midnight hour, as my weakness to the sun would see my demise. That is the single thing I loathe about myself. I used to enjoy sunlight, but it now serves as a weakness for others to exploit. I hate weakness, I hate the feeling of being vulnerable without a means to defend myself and I had vowed that I would never feel that way again. What happened to me you ask? That is a tale for another day.
Williamsburg is a rich city in the state of Virginia. Anyone who can afford to live here is well off. Nice houses and lavish cars sat in the driveways of those with money. Lawns were a lush green and everyone enjoyed the spoils of their labor. Upon entering the hotel my father quickly left me to my own devices and said he would return shortly.
“Very good father, I shall remain here and lose myself in my book.”
When he left I did indeed try to lose myself in one of my books, sadly I was distracted. I decided that a walk around town was in order, perhaps I would find something that would fancy my interest. When I walked downstairs to the first floor I overheard a pair of young men talking to one another.I gathered they were in their late teens or early twenties, I knew not their true age. They were talking about one Xander Parson. Xanderhad qualities much like my human beloved, popular, athletic and strong. But he was no Connor. They spoke of how the ladies desired him but sadly, they spoke of two others, others who did not champion this Xander as much as the rest of the community. I decided that I would sit down opposite of these men to see just where their conversation would lead and as I did so, they took no notice of me.
“No I wouldn’t worry about it. Rebecca and Anna wanted him so badly that they gave it to him, now they’re calling rape. Everyone knows that Anna is sex crazed anyways. He’ll beat the trial no prob, his parents have loads of money.”
So that was the issue I was gathering. Evidently this Xander used women for his own carnal pleasures then discarded them after he forced himself upon them. I know his sort. They are arrogant, self-absorbed, and believe women are lower than they. I listened as the two young men conversed of how much they desired to gain the fortune he had with women. After Xander eluded the feeble justice system, they purposed that they would celebrate and make merry. Sadly, if indeed Xander eluded justice for his atrocities, there would only be room for sorrow. I would see to it that my thirst was sedated and that justice swept the wicked away, each and every person involved.
Two days later I found myself watching television with the curtains closed, blocking the sunlight. As my father would remain here for another two days, I elected to see how Xander’s trial was fairing. I turned the channel to where the trial was shown and watched as the female reporter told viewers of the trial of Williamsburg’s prized athlete.
“Okay we have just learned that the jury has reached a verdict in the case of Xander Parson vs. Anna Kelly and Rebecca Eiling. Parson was arrested on the 20th of April on charges of sexual assault against the two young women. Parson has since proclaimed his innocence but today that is for the jury to decide.”
The reporter placed her hand to her ear as someone spake unto her.
“We take you live into the courtroom where the judge will now read the verdict.”
As we were taken inside the courtroom, I saw that the judge was an average built man with a balding head. His white mustache gave the impressionof a regal magistrate that has come to address his subjects.
“All rise,” he commanded. The people rose as told. He then turned his view upon the jury. “Have you reached a verdict?”
“We have your honor. On the charge of sexual assault, we find the defendant, Xander Parson, not guilty. On the charge of attempted murder, not guilty.”
There were cries of joy as Xanderlovingly embraced his lawyer and his family tightly. Though the cameraman didn’t fully focus upon the victim, I beheld the hurt about her features as her tormentors rejoiced over the acquittal. Let those involved in this affront of justice howl in agony, for an avenger will now hunt the lot of them.
Because the luxury of the internet was not present in those days, I had to rely upon alternative ways to acquire the information I sought. The white pages often revealed the addresses of the prey I sought out so I turned there. To my dismay, the pages revealed every Parson within the county and I desired not to dial every Parson to find the right house. Closing the phonebook, I elected to try the other means of acquiring information, the school he attended.
My father came through the door as I sat lost in thought peering out the window. He wore a glad mask about him as he shut the door behind his person. I glanced that way, giving my father a half smile.
“So Annette how are you enjoying this trip thus far?”
“It is uneventful to be truthful father. There is hardly anything for me to do here.”
“Aw my child surely there is something for you to do. You can’t just sit in here all night. Perhaps there’s a night club for you to go to.”
“I did see one, but it doesn’t strike my fancy. I did intend to go and experience the nature in these parts.”
Father nodded, satisfied with my answer. I love him dearly, he always tries to see that I am entertained and that I am safe.
“Then you may take the car tonight. Also we leave on Monday, your mother will be happy to see us once more.”
I responded not to the statement. At present my mind was focused on righting the wrongs committed. As dusk approached, I arose and gathered my father’s keys. The time for justice…and satisfaction was soon to arrive. I quickly made my way downstairs and out to the parking lot. Because the hotel’s parking lot was small, I had little trouble finding my father’s car. I got into it, started the engine and decided that my first destination was the convenient store. The clerk there should know how to direct me to the school where I would acquire Xander’s address.
When I arrived at the store I noted several young humans laughing and talking with one another about how tonight was to be a joyous night. A thought then occurred to me; if Xander was truly popular, one of these may know the address of the vile heathen. It may yet be that one of these women had previous encounters with Xander, as his looks and status allowed him his pick among the litter before me. No, that would not do. My intent is to do this without a trace and if I were to ask them of his address and I destroy Xander, it may be traced back to me and I cannot have that.Being as tonight was a Saturday night, I gathered that Xander would be out to celebrate with his friends at a nightclub or elsewhere. Then, my wish was granted as I heard one of the humans discuss their plans for the night.
“Hey get me a box of Trojans would ya, Xander’s having Alicia at his party tonight and I’m getting lucky!”
Superb! With this, I could simply follow the humans to Xander’s home and there, I would satisfy my thirst as well as deal due justice. So as not to look suspicious, I purchased a candy bar humans titled Mars as I watched the humans exit the store. I make haste, so as not to lose sight of the people unwittingly playing a part in Xander’s demise.
Fifteen minutes into our journey we arrived at a driveway venturing at least a mile towards the house where my prey lived. I deduced that he dwelt here because when I drove past, two more cars filled with young humans drove inside the driveway, making their way towards the house atop the hill. I parked in a darkened path, vacated my car, then listened to the sounds of merrymaking from the house as I walked through the woods to the house. Carefully I made my way to the backyard as I remained hidden amongst the trees and foliage. I witnessed the attendees socialize, drinking and rejoicing over Xander’s acquittal. I became disgust upon how such people could celebrate the affront of justice so joyously. These people should count themselves fortunate, for they shall escape the justice I shall deal out.
As I remained hidden, I witness the figure of one of the persons I sought walk out of the backdoor of the house to make merry with his peers. He stood about six foot one, broad shoulders complimented his muscular build, and his facial hair had begun to form nicely upon his face. He began talking, laughing and conversing with his friends and to further my disgust, had wrapped his large arms around a young woman, I believe the age of seventeen.Evidently he had his sights set upon her because he was trying to kiss her, but she rejected his advances. She was wise to his trial and though was present at the party, she was careful to avoid any sexual contact with him. I gathered she was here to find a worthy suitor for herself.
I waited patiently from where I was, watching the humans dance. When the party finally concluded and the humans left for the night, I waited twenty minutes to see if all had truly gone and left my prey to themselves. I desired no witnesses to witness what was to come. Upon learning that they all had gone, I silently made my way to the house. I looked for the phone line and when I found it, cut the wire which allowed them contact the outside. With this task complete, I ventured to the front door of the house. I knocked hard upon the door and moments later a middle aged man answered. His hair was partially gray as well as his mustache. Time had seemed to grace his facial features and I could see where Xander received his looks.
“Good evening, is Xander home?”
“No he just left with a few of his friends,” he said happily. “You just missed out on a big party.”
“Your son’s acquittal,” I confirmed. He smiled, his teeth a partial yellow from coffee and smoking I gathered.
“Yep, there is no way on God’s green earth that my son committed such a terrible act.”
“I see, may I come in and wait for Xander for a while? I’m certain of his return in a short while.”
I needed him to invite me in, otherwise I would remain powerless to enter the domain of these vile beings. His father’s answer was immediate.
“I’m afraid he won’t be back for a long while being as he’s out with friends, but I’ll tell him tomorrow that you came. What is your name?”
“I am called Annette, and please Mr. Parson, I would only remain here for a short time. It may yet be that he returns early. If he does not return in ten minutes then I shall become satisfied and I will take my leave.”
Mr. Parson sighed, thinking about what to say to me. I gathered that a pleadful assault was in order, lest he remain firm in his previous answer.
“Please Mr. Parson, it is my great desire to see Xander. If he is not present in ten minutes then I shall return at a later date.”
His smile faded for a moment and then returned again accompanied by a small laugh.
“Alright Annette, come on in but ten minutes. I have work tomorrow.”
“As we agreed.Ten minutes and not a moment more.”
He stepped aside allowing me entry into the domain of my prey. When I stepped inside, a large dog walked inside the living room and growled at me ravenously. It ignored its master’s command of silence so I took my turn to quiet the animal.
“Silence,” I said with a wave of my hand. Instantly the dog whimpered and lay there upon the floor. I could feel that Mr. Parson was flabbergasted by what had just occurred but I cared not.
As I heard the door close behind me, I gazed upon the extravagant objects about the living room. Brown leather couches, two five feet ebony vases adorned with African art. These people must have been fortunate to have acquired such wealth, but alas.
“Would you like something to drink Annette?” asked Mr. Parson. As I smile, my back is remained turned to him so as he could not see my fangs take shape within my mouth. “We’ve got orange juice, tea, even left over alcohol in the fridge.”
“No Mr. Parson I’ll have the drink I require shortly,” I say as I sit upon one of the couches. “Meanwhile there is a matter I must discuss whilst I wait for Xander.”
Mr. Parson looked puzzled as he sat upon the couch across from me.
“What matter is that?”
“Your son Xander and the two women involved with him. Anna and Rebecca were their names yes? There was a rape and attempted murder trial involving the three of them.”
Mr. Parson’s features morphed from a look of happiness to a mask of stern. He sought not to discuss the matter of the crime in which he aided in his son’s acquittal.
“If you’ve come to talk about how you believe my son was wrongly acquitted then you may leave little miss. All of the evidence proves that those girls merely wanted to tarnish my son’s good name!”
“And yet several have spoken of his atrocities towards their womanhood. I have great abhorrence towards those who commit such crimes. I’ve recently learned that his semen was upon the undergarments of Anna and that being truth, how was he innocent of such a hateful sin?”
Mr. Parson rose to his feet, his features seething red.
“Did it ever occur to you that someone placed it there?! Get out before I call the police!”
“Do not presume to command me vile swine!” I say with a paralyzing glare. “Your son Xander sodomized those woman and stripped them of their self-respect. Then you aided your son in eluding the justice that was due him, allowing those women to bask in their sorrows.”
“Alright enough of this!”
As he reaches for the phone I sit and wait for the inevitable to occur. There will be no dial tone and as such, will have no means of contacting the police. Justice is forevermore inescapable. As he presses the buttons seeking a dial tone, I rise to my feet and begin to approach Mr. Parson. He slams the phone to the floor and places his hands upon my person, seeking to physically throw me out. Sad really, considering what shall happen.
Annette effortlessly escapes Mr. Parson’s grasp and with great strength, hurls Mr. Parson across the room like a small doll. There was an elegant china cabinet in his airborne path and upon impact, shattered the glass and some of the dishware within. He felt glass and metal pierce his flesh and he could feel some areas of his body ache from the impact. Mr. Parson had some fight left in him. He would not let this woman harm his family over a crime in which his son was acquitted. He would die first. Quickly he gathered himself ignoring the pain he felt and charged Annette again. He swings right and connected perfectly with her face. Her recovery was instant and she followed this with a feral snarl revealing her fangs. Mr. Parson gasped with terror and before he could shout, he felt the ice cold hand of Annette grasp his neck tightly. The freeway allowing oxygen to travel freely was now closed and he began to beat madly at the arm of his assailant as he gasped for breath. Having grown tired of his futile struggles, Annette hurled him once again from her person, sending him through the wooden television stand. Mr. Parson felt bones crack from the force of the impact and realized that his left arm was broken.
“And so you answer for your role in this atrocity,” Annette said as she slowly approached him. At the sound of quickening footsteps near the stairs, Annette turned round and saw the figure of his wife. As she snarled she screamed a high pitched scream, her hands curled up to her aging cheeks. She ran into her room, frightened by what she had witnessed. Her husband laying in pain over what was once a television stand. Why was this happening and who was that girl?! She picked up and phone and dialed 911.
“It shan’t aid you tonight,” came a voice. She gasped with horror as she realized the girl was in the room with her. “You too shall pay for your role in your son’s heinous act.”
“You don’t know anything about the trial! He would never do anything so foolish as to rape those women!”
“I hear otherwise from several, but fret not your death shall be swift.”
Mrs. Parson screamed for the final time, as did her husband shortly after.
Xander Parson arrived home three hours after he left home with his friends to further celebrate his acquittal. The whole trial had been taxing upon him. He had been with many young women in his time, some of which had to be…forced…into doing the deed but they always kept quiet afterwards. They knew how rich and powerful he was and for those two to organize a trial was outrageous. Well it didn’t matter now. He would make them pay and he would have his peers backing him up. Once he was finished Anna and Rebecca would never show their faces again. That was something he could look forward to.
When he turned the knob and opened the door, he walked in to find something he never thought he would come home to. What he saw paralyzed him where he stood, but the woman sitting on the couch didn’t seem to care.
“Xander Parson,” she confirmed. “I believe that you took pleasure in forcing yourself upon young women, hence the trial in which you were wrongly acquitted.”
Xander saw the bodies of his parents on the opposite side of the room atop each other. Annette stood and began walking towards Xander who remained motionless. His very being told him to run but upon gazing upon the bodies of his parents, upon gazing into Annette’s demonic cold red eyes, he found himself unable to.
“You forced yourself upon those young women, then used whatever means available to you to elude the justice due you. I’m aware of your type. I “know” your type and what it is like to feel helpless when swine such as yourself forces themselves upon women. You felt powerful did you not, degrading those weaker than yourself?”
“You…got it wrong,” he managed.
“They desired it you mean. I’ve heard the same thing in times past.”
Instantly Annette took Xander by his jacket and effortlessly flung him onto the wall across the room. The impact was loud and enough to jolt Xander into action. Upon hitting the floor he got to his feet and ran towards the back door. When he reached the door he stopped dead in his tracks. There was Annette, waiting for him with her fangs in full view.
“You cannot escape you vile being!” she rasped.
“Mighty!” Xander called. He called once more, but all he got was silence.
“Your dog, no he shan’t aid you. He obeys only me for now, as he did when he aided me in the deaths of your parents.”
Xander felt something give way in his leg. The pain helped him realize that Annette had kicked his kneecap out of place, crippling him. He held his leg in excruciating pain as he pleaded for his life.
“Please don’t kill me! I’ll confess everything just please!”
“I’m afraid that won’t do. You see the penalty for the act of rape in times of old was death and as you probably surmised I’m a supporter of those times. As I stated before I know what it is like to feel helpless and dirty when degraded. Mighty, come!”
Slowly the dog stepped into the room, saliva dripping from its quivering lips as it growled fiercely at his former master.
“Please no! Please I’m sorry!”
“Mighty, destroy him.”
Without hesitation, the dog leapt upon Xander. His screams were silenced when the dog tore out his throat. Once the dog completed his task, Annette took her time in satisfying her thirst as she drank of the blood of Xander.

As Monday came, my father and I had packed and left for home. I imagine it will take the humans a short while to find Xander and his family dead but even if they do it shan’t be traced back to me, being as I left no trace of my presence. Besides part of the blame will be placed upon the family dog, which I commanded to remain until authorities venture upon the Parson home. Perhaps this will serve as a lesson to those seeking to force themselves upon women, justice is forever present in one form or another.
The doorbell rings and Annette gets up from her bed. When she goes downstairs and answers the door, the human of which she spoke of is present. She allows herself to smile, her fangs in full view. She had reached a point in their relationship that she didn’t need to hide what she was, but there were still certain matters for her to master for the safety of her human boyfriend. She embraced him and gave him a long loving kiss upon his lips.
“Good evening Connor, I trust practice went well,” she asked as she wrapped her arms around his waist.
“For the most part yeah, I am hungry after getting my ass tackled for two hours. Want to grab a bite to eat, I’ll pay.”
Only after Annette leered at him for a moment did he realize the futility of his question. He laughed to himself as Annette released him then lightly pushes him.
“Connor, whilst I’ve grown fond of you I must confess that you are at times what humans call, a dingbat. I do not consume human food but yes, I shall accompany you on your quest for nourishment.”
“Cool, let’s go.”
The two climb into Connor’s car, then head off down the road.
