Yuri Katsuki had won gold at the Grand Prix a few months earlier. Yuri and his fiancé Victor had thought that things would be ok from then on. But the more Victor pushed during Yuri's practices, the more Yuri crumbled and felt unsure of himself.
"Sometimes, I think you only want me because of my skating! Do you even love me as a person, for myself anymore?"
Before Victor even had a chance to reply, Yuri took off from the skating rink, quickly untying the blades and dashing out the building. He needed a moment for himself.
He didn't wait for his silver-haired fiancé to run after him, but he could hear the desperate calls of "Yuri!" following him and footsteps behind him as Yuri tried to isolate himself for a bit. He needed to be alone.
As he crossed the street, he heard something behind him but didn't look behind him. Until he heard other voices.
A car crashing.
"Shit, did I just hit someone?"
Yuri's heart stopped. He didn't want it to be true. No...
As he saw the body on the ground, lifeless, he dropped to his knees and sobbed uncontrollably as the driver called 911 and brought the body to the hospital.
Victor had just gotten into an accident and needed to be hospitalized.
