For thousands of years, this legend has faded from human memory, much like the ancient gods themselves. Yet, in the hidden recesses of a decaying society, there are those who remember. A clandestine sect known as 'The Order of the Shining Stars' keeps the legend alive, worshiping the gods long forgotten by the world.
The order speaks of four gods who crafted the universe: Eldorath, the god of knowledge; Zigmath, the god of movement; Nolok, the god of equilibrium; and Oreck, the god of stars. These deities, known as 'The Four Primordial Planets,' are revered by the order. But some ancient manuscripts hint at the existence of gods even mightier than these four.
The order is a curious mix of the powerful and the ordinary—wealthy magnates from the business and entertainment worlds mingling with those who have neither money nor influence. At its helm is a figure known only as 'The Father.' He claims that a trace of the gods' blood flows through a select few among humanity. Thanks to the Mirror of Four Faces, a sacred gift from Eldorath, they can identify those who carry this divine lineage.
The gods left behind another relic: 'The Book of Everything.' It is said to hold all their knowledge and the tale of how the world and humanity came to be. But the book's secrets remain locked, accessible only with four golden keys scattered across the globe after a brutal civil war tore the order apart. Despite their vast resources, the order has been unable to recover these keys—until now.
'The Father' has uncovered a new lead. Through ancient research, they've learned of a mystical plant known as the Great Tree. This tree is said to grant anyone who connects with it the ability to perceive the past, present, and future. It holds the power to reveal everything, including the final fate of the earth and humankind. Though the exact location of the Great Tree remains unknown, inscriptions from the distant past suggest it lies in the heart of Egypt. The manuscripts, written in a forgotten language, have proven difficult to decipher. So far, the order's scholars have translated only 10% of the text.
The order hired me to find this Great Tree. After months of relentless searching, navigating dead ends, and losing many of my crew to the dangers along the way, I've finally found it.
