Clara exited her home, closing the door and locking it tight as she did so. She walked out into the morning light, the sun's rays flooding the earth around her. She felt good this morning, despite being woken so early. Idly twirling her keys on its ring as she walked, she whistled tunelessly before opening the car door and slipping inside. She shut it, and stuck the key in the ignition, the engine roaring to life beneath the hood of the car. She checked her rear-view mirrors, and backed out of the driveway, watching out for any oncoming traffic as she did so. As the car rolled down the road, into the busier part of town, she wondered what the noises were that had made themselves known earlier that morning. She cleared her mind as she focused on parking, and stepped out of her car. She locked it, and then walked up the sidewalk towards the coffee shop. As she entered, she felt the cold air of the shop rush her- not a real change compared to the chilly morning covering the city. She checked in, and then grabbed her apron off the rack hanging behind the counter. Before starting, however, she stopped to notice something sitting on the counter.
"Mark!" she called into the back.809Please respect copyright.PENANAtCKcITWY7c
"You don't have to yell..." Mark replied, stepping out "What?"809Please respect copyright.PENANArZ5ONQwkHt
"What is that?" she asked, pointing.809Please respect copyright.PENANAoLnKB4qOMi
He shrugged.809Please respect copyright.PENANATyJIAUZR3k
"I don't know, just kinda found it sitting there this morning- looks pretty cool though, don't you think?"809Please respect copyright.PENANAIEge2uRzV2
"No, it's giving me the creeps..." 809Please respect copyright.PENANA6xepE74wey
The large, stone creature sitting on the counter stared out at the customers, its back hunched as two big, mismatched wings hung from it. The empty stone eyes were staring blankly out at the street beyond the walls of the shop, its foreclaws placed before it, as one clawed foot, and one foot that looked like a paw sat under its hunched body.
She shuddered as she stared at the demonic creature.
"And you didn't think it's weird that someone just left this here?" she asked, gesturing at the stone monstrosity. 809Please respect copyright.PENANAyNcNnH6Wh9
"Finders keepers" he shrugged, turning to walk back into the kitchen. 809Please respect copyright.PENANAc4zyDbss9o
"Well you can't just leave it here! It's taking up most of the counter as it is! How am I supposed to get anything done with this thing in the way?"809Please respect copyright.PENANANcTXTeSCTy
"I'll take care of it later, jeez..." she heard him call.809Please respect copyright.PENANASunNbTDYue
She rolled her eyes as she turned around, tying the back of her apron as she prepared for the busy work day ahead. Though, she couldn't help but feel that there was something wrong...as if something, somewhere, was trying to warn her of something...
