Mildura, Victoria, Australia, 4th January, 2013
Rachelle’s eye snap open to the sound of two young boys aurging. The walls of the room are painted a pastel pink with posters of the littlest pet shop, barbie and many other celebrities Rachelle admires and looks up to, five of them being youtubers. Her bed is a darker pink with a yellow fluffy rabbit with a green bow at its ear. She feels as if she is back home in Mildura... but she knows it’s a dream which she doesn’t want to wake up from.
She pulls herself out of bed and slides her feet into the clefiary slippers beside her bed. She turns to her computer desk just across from the window; she remembers its white with a mix of books all different sizes, colours and paper backs and hard covers, a small black laptop is placed in the middle of the desk, on charge and turned on the screen is a phot of herself, Naomi, Caleb, and Lachlan with Rachelle’s two younger brothers Ryder and Rafael. It’s of the time they went on a holiday to Swan Hill and had a fun time.
“Rachelle hurry!”
She hears her mother shouts from somewhere in the house. She grabs her blue hoodie with a picture of a green bug saying ‘I’m BUGing out’ on it and heads out of her room. Her younger brothers Ryder and Rafael are fighting over whose turn it is to play on the Xbox and their father yelling at them to stop fighting and to take turns each hour. However, they aren’t listening to him and fighting for the Xbox controller.
Rachelle heads down the hallway and straight for the kitchen. She finds her mother putting the dirty dishes into the dish washer, sitting at the table is Naomi and Caleb who are whispering to each other and Rachelle’s mother. It doesn’t take long before they notice Rachelle awake.

“Finally, you’re awake. Hurry and get ready. You have a long day today”
“What did we have to do today?”
Rachelle asks as Naomi pipes up, happier than normal, even a little excited.
“We have netball and football today remember; we are facing off against a team in Irymple!”
She forgot about Netball and football; how could she forget it? It’s a part of the reason she likes Sundays. She is the centre of her team, meaning she can go to a lot of places in the court, more than Naomi who has to stay at the hoop. She notices everyone waiti9ng for her answer, her mother even looking a little worried.
“You’re right. I’m sorry it’s just been one busy week for me with... all that holiday homework the school handed out...”
It’s the best thing she could say. She is happy to be here, but she knows she’s just dreaming. So, she acts as if she doesn’t know. This dream will end soon enough, so she just needs to play along, acting like everything is fine... right? Does she want this dream to end? She is home... The very place she loves and wants to be at... As she, Caleb and Naomi ;eve Rachelle’s house and walk to Caleb’s house. He forgot his water and bottle as they joke around, which brings the joke to Rachelle, making the dream feel more real. As they walk to Caleb’s Rachelle feels as if someone is watching her, she stops and to her surprise Naomi and Caleb keep walking and talking almost like she is still with them. She sees something or one covered in grey fabric at the corner of her eye. She looks to her left to see whatever it is, is already gone.
