MARCH 7, 1985- Aslan
After being chaperoned into my adoptive father’s office, I brushed off the bodyguard’s hands, especially Marvin. They didn’t need to touch me. I sat down on the couch, looking over at Dino who was at his desk. I couldn’t believe he forced that upon my gang members. Killing someone ‘just because’ was a bad idea.
He was a fat man, with a gray mustache and dark cold eyes. His voice was low and disturbing. Nothing good came out of that man.
”Now, Ash, you might think that I told them to kill the man just because I felt like it. He had a secret, a dark one, and I needed to get rid of him.”
”What secret?”
”That, you won’t know.”
My eyes furrowed. Why wouldn’t he tell me? Why wouldn’t he tell me why he forced my boys to go against our code!? You can’t kill someone for no reason on the streets!
I slammed my fists on the side of the couch, standing up furiously. He would tell me. He had to. I quickly sat down when Dino spoke up again.
”It’ll protect you. That’s all that matters. Wine?”
He handed a glass of red wine to me. As I sipped on it with a glare, I decided it would be best to leave before I tried to strangle the guy. Thankfully he respected my decision this time, and I left.

I left the building, going behind it to start my motorcycle which I somehow forgot for the past few days. As I lifted my leg over it, I was almost shoved off.
I swore loudly, raising my fist to try to fight back. I did punch, and almost immediately apologized when I knew who it was. Shorter Wong is a close friend of mine. He had a purple mohawk and a smart street sense like me.
We met when we were around fourteen. Though he didn’t have any comparisons except for our age, we understood each other’s struggles. We both bonded because of feeling hurt and pressured over me being forced into prostitution and him being bullied for being Chinese.
I mumbled an annoyed ‘hi’ as I started up the motorcycle.
“You alright man? Just came to check on you.”
I nodded with a shrug, giving him a fake air kiss, flipping him off, and I drove off. For scaring me, he deserved to come here for nothing.
“Leave before they shoot you!”
I yelled.
(Sorry if it’s cringe. I suck at writing (´∀`))
