Chapter 3
“Hmm… cupcakes…,” Tiger murmured half asleep as someone started nudging her.
It had been two nights since her odd dream and things just kept getting weirder.
For example, yesterday, she found an odd stone pallet next to her, with weird carvings in it, just as she woke up. She had kept it safe in a little bag she had made the day before.
Today one of the Namaste monkeys woke her up.
“Great, more of these heart-sucking, crayon-eating, little devils,” Tiger grumbled.
“You need to learn how to become a better shadow user and fighter,” It said, and gave no sign that it had heard her.
She narrowed her eyes but didn’t argue, and instead, she pulled her silk covers off her bed and quickly followed the Namaste monkey outside.
By the time she had gotten there, she was sweating profusely, for the monkey was floating instead of walking.
He had zoomed the entire way and Tiger had struggled to keep up with him.
“Right,” He started with his eyes still closed. “First, you need to know how to use your shadow abilities. Do you know what you can do?”
Tiger cocked her head.
The monkey snapped, “You’re a shadow user. What can you do with your shadow abilities?”
“Oh, I can shapeshift into a wolf, snake, dragon, fox and any feline. I can cast simple spells, and that’s it.”
“Hmmm…” the monkey mused. “Have you tried to go invisible?”
Tiger hesitated. “I… I don’t think so,” she responded.
“Then try!” He said.
Tiger closed her eyes. Become invisible. She urged herself. As she opened her eyes, she saw the monkey shaking his head.
Tiger bit back a growl and closed her eyes again. No one is able to see you. You can sneak around. She opened her eyes once again, again to see him shaking his head.
Tiger snarled, closed her eyes, and focused on the prospect of invisibility, nothing being able to see her.
Again, she opened her eyes as he said, “Well done, Tiger.”
“Um… So… Do you mind telling me how to turn back?” She asked rather stupidly.
The monkey sighed, “Why would you ever want to turn back?”
Tiger’s eyes widened, “There is a way to turn back, right?” Fear was coursing through her veins now as she wondered what her parents would think of this.
“Don’t be stupid,” The Namaste monkey snapped, “Why would I teach you to turn you invisible but not teach you to turn back?” He asked.
“Okay… So how do I do it?”
“First, you imagen your last form, not your favourite one, your last one,” It told her.
She imagined her green eye, then her blue eye, her dark black hair, and her fox ears, dragon wings, fox tail, cat claw nails, and every small detail about her.
“Try again,” The Namaste monkey said.
She growled, but obeyed, trying again but with more desperation.
“Good job,” The Namaste monkey said with a note of approval, and then he attacked her.
Tiger jumped back in surprise as he shot forward at her. She unsheathed her claws and swung at him, missing by an inch.
Ugh! She thought in annoyance as he scratched her side. I knew I shouldn’t have trusted him! She yelped as it stung and the metallic smell filled the air.
“Use your abilities!” He urged her as he flung at her again.
Tiger closed her eyes and thought about becoming invisible. Once she opened her eyes and came out of her thoughts, she heard him shout, “Good job! Now, what can you do?”
She transformed easily into a wolf and sprang at him, teeth bared, and he stood no chance until she landed on him and ripped his neck open, but then it was too late. She panted in exhaustion and relief as he slowly faded, and then she realized. “Wait- no!” She shouted.
“What have I done?”

She walked through a dark forest, stepping past puddles of muck, not wanting to get her feet more dirty than they already were.
Tiger came to a clearing where the Namaste Monkey was peacefully on a cloud, meditating.
Feeling relieved, she ran to him and tried shaking him.
He opened his eyes, to reveal pupiless white holes.
Tiger tried to back away, but it was too late, and the world around her turned into a dark cave, where she could hear two people arguing.
She slowly crept across the cave and the voices became clear.
Both male, but one sounded familiar, Tiger didn’t know from where.
She peaked over a stalagmite to see a hyman in its dragon form and what looked like nothing.
But Tiger swore she heard someone else.
Then, the same deep voice spoke, and it seemed to come from the shadows themselves.
“I only think the truth.”
Tiger narrowed her eyes trying to find the hyman the voice belonged to.
“No.”
“You will never kill her. She will put an end to all your chaos you have caused. Even if you try, I will protect h-”
To her horror, a large gash appeared on the hymans neck, and he was silenced for good.
Tiger wanted to scream, to call for help, to run, but her fear that the shadow would see or hear her stopped her from doing anything.
Blood spilled on the cave floor, like a big tidal wave of red death.
The shadow laughed wickedly, “Is that so? Well I guess I should get going, and game on. Tryrelis, game on!”
It said one more thing, “I might not be able to kill her when she’s awake, but what about sleep?” then the shadow seemed to disappear, not even noticing Tiger.
The last thing she heard from it was, “Your time is over, Snake’s Eye!”
‘Snake’s Eye?’ Tiger thought, ‘what is that?’
A minute passed and when she was finally sure that thing had gone. ‘Where am I?’ She questioned.
Right when she was about to leave, some movement caught her eye.
The Namaste Monkey was rising from the figure's body, and when he looked at her (He actually had pupils this time) Tiger could have sworn he winked.
‘That's where I knew the hyman from! He’s the Namaste Monkey!’ She realised and the cave transformed back into the clearing.
The pupiless Namaste Monkey was still there and when he looked Tiger straight in the eyes, he spoke:
To save Eytherralki
Find the Snake’s Eye
Complete the Stone’s quest
Or all will die
Find the stone where the sun drowns
Locate the stone of moon in ancient towns
Where wars are fought, the Blood Stone may lay
Stone of Fire, under the scorching sun’s ray
Wisdom, step carefully, be careful, your brain is at test
To collect knowledge, know yourself best
In the heart of tunnels, lies the Heart of Stone
The Life Stone’s location is still unknown
Under the night sky
The Blue Moon will rise
Under, the Water of Clear Sight
And then mix together for hope’s light
And with that, everything went black.

Tiger woke up splayed across her bed, sweating.
She sat up and knew what she had to do, but it didn’t make it any less easier.
Tiger knew that she needed to find the Snake’s Eye (whoever that was) to stop the shadow, before he (or it or she) could do anymore damage.
And to do that, she had to leave Stone Kingdom.
