Eri sat floating in her bath surrounded by bubbles and steam. Her hands glided over her supple skin, pulling along foamy suds. As she hummed a cheery tune, she felt something graze gently against her right ankle. It felt almost like a fish tail flicking past. Confused, she parted the suds with her slender fingers and peered into the watery depths.
A pair of eyes looked back.
Eri jolted upright and splashed water around her as she slipped and struggled to stand upright. A tall, muscular and naked man emerged from the water's surface, his wavy purple hair matted to his face and his skin lightly freckled with tiny iridescent fish scales that sparkled under the bathroom heat lamp. A mass of soapy bubbles covered him just enough to maintain decency.
Before she could make a sound, the man reached out and pulled her into his arms. Eri could feel his warmth as she pressed up against him, and her own warmth rose to her cheeks.
"I've found you... at last," He whispered softly and upon hearing him, she melted.
"... Who are you?" Eri croaked and felt a bit embarrassed that she couldn't muster up an equally sexy voice. She'd never been this close to anyone before and she had no idea how to hold herself.
The man lifted up her chin and smiled. Eri could see him clearly now. His eyes were a deep purple hue that turned rosy when the light hit at just the right angle. His lips were succulent and sweet like watermelon. She could smell the scent of his breathing. It smelt like... eggs?
With a snap, Eri sat up. Disoriented, she felt around for a towel but only touched cotton. Opening her eyes, she realised that she was still in bed and the corner of her pillow was soaked in drool. The eggs she smelt was coming from a neighbour's apartment.
Feeling extremely disappointed but still also giddy from the quality of her dream, she hopped out of bed and stretched her body.
I wonder where my mind came up with such a hunk, Eri thought as she brushed her teeth in the shower, All this makes such good material to use with my wand after work! She smiled through the foamy toothpaste and hopped on the spot in excitement.
When she finished wrapping her straight brown hair with her mint coloured towel and dried up, Eri proceeded towards her kitchen to prepare breakfast. However, something was strange.
The smell of eggs seemed to be coming from her own kitchen and it sounded like someone was in there when there absolutely shouldn't be since she lived alone. Eri's heart leapt up to her throat as she looked around for a potential bludgeoning weapon. She only had a towel wrapped around her body and hair, and felt extremely vulnerable but she was determined to confront the intruder.
Carefully, she pulled out her most sturdy umbrella sitting in the umbrella stand in the hallway and wielded it like a greatsword with both hands over her head. Eri took in a deep breath, calmed herself and then stomped into the middle of the doorway, screaming like a banshee.
"Aaaargh....uuuuh?!"
With her mouth hanging open and the umbrella dropping to her side, Eri gaped at the sight before her in the kitchen. It was the man from her dream but rather than being naked and soapy, he was dressed in a sleeveless black halterneck and fancy designer slacks. He was also handling her frying pan and spatula scrambling some eggs with slices of bread.
"Oh! You're finally awake, Eri!"
Eri's jaw hypothetically hit the ground as did her heart.
"Come! Eat! I've made breakfast. Unless... you want to get dressed first?" the man gave a sly lopsided grin and continued in his teasing tone, "I don't think I'll be able to concentrate on eating my portion if you're dressed like that."
The man slid the homemade breakfast onto two prepared plates and brought them to the small table in the centre of the kitchen where there was cutlery already neatly laid out. He placed one full plate in front of him and the other opposite, before looking up at Eri with a boyish smile.
"Uh... I... I'll get dressed first..." Eri said as she began to slink away from the kitchen and back to her bedroom to get to her phone. She had to tell Anya. She had to make sense of all this. How in the hell did her dreams come true?
But it seemed like Anya was also having the same issue. There were several text messages from Anya all in the last fifteen minutes with words such as "WTF" and "OMG" and "SHIIIIIIET" dotted throughout. The last message that Eri received from her best friend, time stamped a minute ago, was a blurry selfie showing a stupefied Anya pointing to a dashingly handsome man sitting on her couch behind her.
In a daze, Eri dropped her phone on her bed and proceeded to get dressed. She pulled out whatever she first found and put it on haphazardly, and then texted her boss to say that she was feeling unwell and would have to take some time off work.
"Ah, you're dressed! But... your buttons are all misaligned. Here, let me help you," the man said as Eri stumbled like a zombie back into the kitchen. Even though it was the morning, she was already feeling drained from all the excitement and shock.
As he re-buttoned her shirt, Eri slowly lifted an index finger and poked the man on the cheek. His skin was warm and soft, and he chuckled as he pulled her hand away from his face before he continued straightening up her clothes.
"You're... real?" Eri said dreamily as the man stepped back to admire his work with one hand across his chest and the other cradling his chin.
"Of course I am, silly," He strode back to the kitchen table, sat down and tapped his fork on her plate. "It's getting cold, you know. I made this French Toast especially for you. It's my specialty."22Please respect copyright.PENANAdtQ4gmIygk
She sat down into her kitchen chair like a lump of cold dough. Eri couldn't think straight. She'd never had a man of this calibre in her home before, let alone cook for her. In fact, the only men who have set foot in her home was the real estate agent from when she bought the place three years ago who was probably 60 years old at least and the geriatric plumber who Anya had suggested and insisted was cheap.
Eri had never had a boyfriend in her life. She was far too busy with her work to even think about dating, so she had started to play Otome games and reading Boy Love comics to fill in the void. After years of consuming this media, Eri found her benchmark for men rise to impossible heights. Sure there were the odd one or two guys who had asked her out once a long, long time ago but she simply wasn't interested....22Please respect copyright.PENANATG0EKayGaU
