I woke up. I looked around, and saw white walls and beds. Some people was sleeping in beds.
'I'm glad that you finally woke up,' said a men wearing casual wear, with thick glasses.
'Who are you?' I asked.
'I'm your nurse, you're in a hospital. You suffered from a serious car incident 40 years ago, and you never woke up since then. I'll arrange a checkup for you as soon as possible, and if everything is fine about your health, you can go home.'
He left.
40 years. The world must had big changes. Would I be able to adapt to everything new?
I looked around. There were so many machines around. They fed other patients food and drinks, and even chat with them. Cool.
A robot came to me.
'Are you John?' it asked.
'Yes, I am,' I answered.
'I'm here to have a checkup for you. Please put your hand here...'

'We will be able to read the results tomorrow,' it said.
'I see,' I said.
We started to chat about the biggest inventions in this 40 years.

'There is an invention you may really want to try.'

'It's a machine that brings you to the past.'
'Oh, cool. Then I cam go back to the day I have the incident and avoid it. I surely can't stand wasting 40 years of my life on bed!'
'But no one has tried it before.'
'Is it very expensive?'
'No, the developer is finding volunteers to test the machine. It's free of charge.'
'I must try it!'
'But you must be careful. No one knows what may happen to it.'
'But it's still worth trying,' I said.
'I don't think so,'said the robot.'Travelling to the past might not be really possible, and even if you can, you may not be able to change it.'

'Well, it's hard to say. But...try to think about it : if you go to the past, will you see another yourself in the past? Or will you replace the "you" in the past? If yes, will you become 40 years younger? Will everything in your body, including your memory, become as same as 40 years ago? Which means that you may not know that you have traveled to the past because you want to avoid an accident, you may not even know that an accident will happen. If there will be 2 of "you", one is 40 years younger and one is 40 years older in the past, will the younger you listen to want you say to warn him about the accident? Won't you be scared if a person come to you and claim that he is the "future" you and ask you not to do something because an accident will happen if you do so?'
