Since spending more time together, Vio felt that something was changing within him. His feelings for Sheren were growing stronger, though he still wasn’t ready to fully admit them. However, one thing was certain: he wanted to stay close to Sheren, get to know her better, and ensure that their time together wasn’t just a coincidence.
That day, Vio planned to help Sheren again with her class project. They had agreed to meet at the library after their lectures. However, before that, a small incident made Vio's heart beat faster.
As he was walking to class, he saw Sheren standing in front of the laboratory, looking confused. He quickly approached her and gently tapped her shoulder.
"Sheren, what’s wrong?" he asked with concern.
Sheren turned and gave a small smile. "Ah, Vio. I forgot to bring my flash drive with the data for today’s experiment. I need it for my presentation later."
Without hesitation, Vio offered to help. "Where did you leave it? I can get it for you."
Sheren hesitated for a moment but eventually nodded. "It's in my dorm room. But I feel bad troubling you."
Vio chuckled. "It’s no problem, Sher. I forget my stuff all the time too. I’ll hurry so you can make it to your presentation on time."
Without waiting for a response, Vio ran to the dormitory to retrieve Sheren’s flash drive. After getting it from her room with permission from her roommate, he rushed back to the lab. When he handed the flash drive to Sheren, she looked at him with sincere gratitude.
"Thank you so much, Vio. You really saved me," Sheren said with a smile that made Vio’s heart race again.
"You’re welcome. If you ever need help again, don’t hesitate to ask me," Vio replied, trying to stay casual despite feeling incredibly happy inside.
That afternoon, they met at the library as planned. The quiet atmosphere made it a perfect place to discuss and work on their project together. However, between their serious work, light conversations flowed naturally.
"Vio, you’ve never told me about your family. Where do they live?" Sheren suddenly asked.
Vio paused for a moment before answering. "My family lives in Bandung. I’m an only child, so they can be quite protective of me. But they always support me in studying here."
Sheren smiled. "It must be nice to have such a supportive family. I’m also close to my family, especially my older brother."
Vio nodded. "Oh yeah, you once mentioned that you have a brother. Where does he work now?"
"He works at a tech company in Jakarta. He also studied here, which is why I became interested in enrolling at President University," Sheren explained, her eyes lighting up.
That conversation allowed them to get to know each other even more. Vio felt comfortable talking to Sheren, and he was sure that she felt the same way.
After several hours, they finally completed most of their project. Before parting ways, Sheren looked at Vio with an expression softer than usual.
"I’m glad we got to work together, Vio. You’re really dependable," she said.
Vio felt warmth spread through his heart. "Me too, Sheren. If you ever need help again, I’m always ready."
They parted with smiles, but deep inside, Vio knew that his feelings were growing stronger. The longer he avoided confronting them, the harder it would be to pretend that he didn’t care.
