World Concept: The Twilight Forge
In the world of Somnara, two rare and opposing forces shape reality—the Dreamsmiths, artisans who forge objects, weapons, and even landscapes from dreams, and the Shadow Sirens, ethereal beings who weave nightmares into haunting melodies that can lure, manipulate, or unravel the minds of those who hear them.
For centuries, the Dreamsmiths created wonders beyond imagination, pulling fragments of pure creativity from the dream realm to shape reality. Cities of floating crystal towers, rivers of liquid gold, and forests that whispered poetry flourished under their craft. But their creations always had one weakness—shadows. Any structure, object, or weapon forged from dreams would eventually fade when exposed to prolonged darkness.
Enter the Shadow Sirens. Born from the depths of forgotten nightmares, they sing in the dark corners of the world, feeding on fear and sorrow. Their songs can turn courage into dread, twist paths into endless loops, and erase the existence of anyone who listens too long. However, their power is not absolute—they can only affect what is fragile or uncertain. And nothing is more fragile than a fading dream.
Thus began an eternal struggle between Dreamsmiths and Shadow Sirens. The Dreamsmiths try to strengthen their creations with light and belief, while the Sirens unravel them with whispers and song.
But one fateful night, a young Dreamsmith named Lioris stumbles upon an injured Shadow Siren—Nyx—whose song has been stolen. Without her voice, she cannot feed, nor can she fade back into the abyss where her kind belongs. Against all logic, Lioris chooses to help her, crafting a fragile instrument from a lucid dream—a silver harp that allows her to sing again, but without the power to destroy.
Together, they uncover an ancient truth: their powers were never meant to be at war. Long ago, Dreamsmiths and Shadow Sirens worked in harmony—one crafting dreams, the other singing away the nightmares that threatened to consume them. Somewhere in history, that balance was lost, and their war began. Now, Lioris and Nyx must venture into the forgotten ruins of the Twilight Forge, the only place where both dreams and shadows can coexist, to restore the balance before their world collapses into an eternal nightmare.
But time is running out. The Shadow Sirens are stirring, and the Dreamsmiths fear their own creations are beginning to unravel…
