When she said death valley I knew where she was talking about. I use to sell drugs down there in my younger days so I was confused on why we were going down there. When she went to her house she had this huge box filled with food and soap and clothes. I figured she gave it away to people down there. We were deep in death valley to a house and it was a lady sitting on the porch. She got out and I followed her.
"Hey mama." She said bending down.
"Beauty baby is that you?" She asked.
"It's me mama I brought you some stuff."
"Is that Romeo?" She asked.
"No mama this is Yael my boyfriend. Remember I left Romeo." She said.
"Good your daddy must have taken care of that. They way that boy use to beat on you and you come crying to me." She said.
"Mama okay. You don't have to tell the neighborhood. I put some food in there." She said.
"Good I love my daughter's cooking. One day I'ma get better and cook for you baby girl like I use to." She said getting up. Beauty sat on the porch swing and I sat next to her. I put my arm around her.
"My mom wasn't always like this she was my daddies rider till my brother mom shot her she didn't bounce back she got addicted to the pills and then she looked for some shit stronger. My daddy told her the drugs or us and she chose the drugs. When she's ready she will get clean." She shrugged.
"How often you come down here?" I asked.
"Once a month. I have to lay eyes on her. As much as I refuse to admit it. My mom helped me in a rough time."
"Yeah about that."
"Romeo he had a hand problem when he drinks. He started getting paranoid and one day he beat me so bad I came all the way over here to hide out. Nobody knows where my mom lived so this would be the last place he would look for me at. I stayed till my face was healed. I didn't know she went to my daddy about it but explains why he never hit me again. I don't even know why I stayed." She said.
"Damn ma."
"Yeah my daddy tried to pick up the slack of not having my mom but I needed her so when I got big. I hired somebody to find her and I bought her this house." I said.
"You are a good one whoever you end up with is gonna be a lucky man." I said.
It's been a few weeks since our first outing and here my team was complaining about her. I didn't get it first they wanted me to have a girl on my arm but when I found one they complained about her image. Truth be told I liked Beauty. She was cool and calm but I think her showing me her mom is what touched me the most. So a few days ago I took her mom to my safe house and forced her to get clean. Beauty would wait forever before her mom actually get clean so I made the decision myself.
"This girl is not the one for you." Shondra said.
"I like her. She's kinda feisty." I said.
"Mr. Cash Beauty is here." My assistant myia said.
"Send her in." I said.
"Yael what is she doing here. She can't just come here a disrupt your schedule."
"Honestly she can though. Like I said I picked who I wanted so deal with it." I said as Beauty walked in the door with food.
"Hey." She said.
"Hey Beauty. Come on in." I said sitting down. She handed me lunch.
"Am I interrupting?" She asked look between me and Shondra.
"Not at all. Shondra you can go." I said.
