When AI first started to appear, I was one of the traditional digital artists who wasn't sure about it. In fact, I was pretty against it. I thought that using AI to create art was cheating, because it wasn't really made by the artist, but by a computer. I was so turned off by the idea that I even stopped making art for a while. I didn't want to be part of a scene that was moving more and more towards using AI.
But recently, I decided to give AI a try. And what I found out was surprising - creating art and literature with AI is an art form in itself. It's not just about pushing a button and letting the computer do the work. You have to write special instructions, called prompts, to get the AI to do what you want. And it's not easy - it takes a lot of time and practice to get good at it. Plus, using the top AI tools can be expensive.
I think about how digital cameras were first received by the photography community. At first, people who used them were seen as not being "real" photographers. But now, almost all photography is done with digital cameras. The same thing is happening with digital art and music - AI is being used to create more and more of it. And I think that soon, most art, music, and photos will be made or altered with the help of AI.
It's not just art that will be affected by AI, though. AI will be used in all parts of our lives, from the computer programs that run our world to the power plants that give us electricity. Everything will be supported by AI in some way. So instead of fighting it, I'm trying to learn as much as I can about it. I think that if AI is going to be a big part of our future, we need to understand it and learn how to work with it. Because even though AI is powerful, it still needs people to operate it.
But there's a fear that's hard to shake - the fear that AI will someday take over, like in the movie Terminator. It's a scary thought, and it's something that's on a lot of people's minds.
It's not the computers themselves that we should be worried about, but the people who might use AI for bad things. Some people might use AI to steal from others, or to trick them into doing something they don't want to do. They could even use AI to make fake pictures or videos of someone, which could be really hurtful. And it's not just individuals - some countries might use AI for spying or even for war.
But here's the thing: if AI ever does become a threat to humans, it's the people who understand AI who might be the only ones who can stop it. So, it's really important for all of us to learn about AI and how it works. We should try to understand it and use it for good, because AI is not going away. If we don't learn about it, we might get left behind, and that could be a big problem.
