Built myself, word by word, drafts discarded
Rewritten, motivations have changed through the years, secondary
Characters lose or gain prominence in the plot, in every revision
Someone gets dropped, some new reason for writing emerges
As I try, over and over again, to make myself someone
Worth interacting with.
As a child, I based myself on television side characters, comic relief
But my life is far from a comedy, so I've outgrown that effort.
I'm more literary now,
A narrator in my own right, a story forever unfolding.
Revised editions are published every birthday, new year's,
Whenever I try to change the circumstances of this one wild life of mine.
