Most stories i've read that feature an abusive relationship ends with the victim leaving it, but never gets into detail about what happens after.
Character A was stuck in such a relationship and is now out of it. How did they get out? What is their life like now? What kind of abuse did they suffer through? How is the past abuse still affecting them today? How are they trying to heal? Are they making progress?
